PLAN TWO COUNTY
GRAIN ELEVATORS
Grain growers of the El Toro and San Juan Capistrano districts today were anticipating important action at a joint meeting of the farm centers of the two sections at San Juan Capistrano Friday evening of this week, when the question of locating grain elevators at the two points and at other points in So. Calif., with a big terminal elevator at a tidewater location, will come up for consideration.
The joint meeting will be given over largely to discussion of the problems of grain growers and men prominent in the industry and the state farm bureau will be present as special speakers. Representatives of centers in other grain growing sections of the southland also will be present.
Dr. George Clements, manager of the agricultural department of the Los Angeles C. of C.; W. H. Heileman, secretary of the California federation, and C. H. Lindstrom, president of the California Farm Bureau Elevator corporation, will be the speakers. Lindstrom is from Willows, one of the big wheat growing districts of the northern part of the state.
The Orange-co farm bureau is taking an active interest and is rendering every assistance possible in the erection of marketing organizations, and in a platform of policies adopted at the annual meeting especially urged the grain growers to rally together, to equip their farms, build elevators and to organize co-operative marketing associations for the economical distribution of their products.
Organization of marketing associations by beet growers, vegetable growers, apple growers and all other farming enterprises in Orange-co was recommended, with support of the farm bureau pledged to such undertakings.

DECLINE IN WORLD'S WHEAT SUPPLY
WASHINGTON, Feb. 22. — Some interesting data on wheat production has just been put out by the International Institute of Agriculture of Rome.
Before the war, Europe, exclusive of Russia, produced a five-year average of 1,242 million bushels of wheat. In 1920 it produced 936 million bushels and in 1921 the production was increased to 1,154 million bushels, practically pre-war figures.
All the countries of the world, except old Russia, formerly produced 3,019 million bushels, five-year average. Last year the production for the same area was 3,006 million bushels, almost exactly pre-war average.
Now it also happens that the average pre-war Russian export was 162 million bushels which, added to the production of the rest of the world aforesaid, gave the rest of the world a total available wheat supply before the war of 3,181 million bushels.
So it will be seen that the present what crop of the world available for consumption outside Russia is 175 million bushels short of what it was in the decade before the World war.

BUNCO AND DECEIT
WASHINGTON, Feb. 22. — Republican leaders have set out to "bunco and deceive" the American people regarding the achievements of congress, in an effort to retain control at the coming election, Senator Harrison, Mississippi, charged today in a speech to the senate.
Mr. Harrison was replying to the speeches made yesterday by Senator Lodge, Massachusetts, at Boston, and McCormick, Illinois, in the senate, claiming that the Republican congress had reduced by $4,000,000,000 the appropriations asked for by the Democrats.
This reduction, Mr. Harrison said, was really brot about by sudden ending of the war which made unnecessary certain huge expenditures, estimated for on the theory that the war would continue. He said the Republican leaders had not actually reduced appropriations, but had merely cut estimates.

PARIS STREET NAMELESS
PARIS, Feb. 22.—A number of Parisians who for years have been suffering what they describe as a crying injustice have now lost patience and sent in a violent protest to the municipal council.
Their trouble is that they do not know where they live.
In fact from a strictly legal point of view it could probably be argued that they do not live anywhere at all.
For if one has no address one cannot be said to possess a domicile. Indeed, the argument might with good logic be carried further and a really conscientious gendarme bent on doing his full duty could arrest the whole crowd of these people as vagrants.
The explanation of this seeming mystery is that by one of those strange oversights which occasionally occur, even in the best regulated administrations, the Paris authorities have forgotten to give a name to a little street situated in the heart of a busy business district near the Ourcq canal. And not only is the street without a name, but the houses are without numbers, save those painted on them by some of the inhabitants.
But their enterprise has only added to the confusion, as some of these numbers are duplicated.
