This is considerably faster than the best time Santa Fe passenger trains show. W. T. Quirk, general inspector of transportation of the road, was in charge of the Essex special. Elapsed time on the trip was 15 hours and 30 minutes, allowing two hours and 33 minutes for necessary stops.
