OBSERVE WHITTIER
NIGHT AT REVIVAL
Whittier night was appropriately observed last night at the Harding evangelistic campaign at the Grand theatre, by the attendance of more than 40 persons from the town of Whittier. With an orchestra of 12 pieces, the neighboring church people came and took part in the opening of the evening service. Three selections were given by the orchestra.
Evangelist U. E. Harding preached on the subject, "Moral Insanity," the text being taken from the story of the prodigal son, as found in the 15th chapter of Luke. From this story the evangelist pointed out that Jesus Christ always used illustrations that would reach the people with whom he was dealing.
"We need in this age to preach the gospel down where men live," said Mr. Harding. "When Jesus wanted to help those who were dissatisfied, restless, and unhappy, he pointed out the ways of the illies of the field: He told the men in the harvest field to observe the sow and harvesting of the wheat; He used the parable of the prodigal son to teach mothers and fathers how to deal with their sons.
"Would that modern mothers and fathers were more interested in their sons and daughters. It seems the people of America are more interested in sheep and gold than they are in boys and girls. A man will go half across the United States to get a thorough-bred hog, while he will let his beautiful daughter marry a man whose character is questionable, and whose body is diseased with sin. We need a greater awakening on the value of our sons and daughters."
"Look at the cigarette-smoking boys, who are blowing their brains out thru their noses, wandering around with no purpose in life; then look at our girls who have no higher ideals than a ten-cent show, a dime novel, or a dance hall where they can dance in the embrace of strange men. If that's the crowd we have to look to for our fathers and mothers, how can we expect to find an Abraham Mansell? We can expect to find the

"Look at the cigarette-smoking boys, who are blowing their brains out thru their noses, wandering around with no purpose in life; then look at our girls who have no higher ideals than a ten-cent show, a dime novel, or a dance hall where they can dance in the embrace of strange men. If that's the crowd we have to look to for our fathers and mothers, how can we expect to find an Abraham Lincoln. We can expect to find the mothers consumptives, the fathers cigarette fiends with diseased bodies, and the childrden crippled and blind.
"It is time we were waking up. What is it going to take to wake us up—to wake the church, the ministry, the mothers and fathers? It took the swine pen to wake up the prodigal son. You may expect this generation to reap what they sow. The little sins, you don't think amount to much, but you will have to reap an abundant harvest."

CORP. WILL HELP COUNTY
Various recommendations of ways in which the Anaheim Really Board might extend its activities were made at the luncheon meeting of the board today by LeRoy Berger, a member, who was speaker of the day.
Other speakers included President H. E. Forster and J. R. Steele of the Continental Finance corporation, who described the scope and objects of the organization. The corporation draws its capital from Orange-co and will devote itself exclusively to Orange-co interests the two said. Vice President James E. Stewart presided.
Berger, in his speech, urged greater activity on the part of the board's membership committee, although he said, the quality of the membership was more important than its numerical strength. The speaker thought the board could be of service in adding the C. of C. in civic improvements of one sort or another. He suggested a separate program committee whose duty it would be to select the improvements which should be supported, a finance committee to determine ways and means of obtaining funds with which to push the board's interests, and a publicity committee whose work in part should be to help prevent or counteract publicity harmful to the city.
It is the plan to have one member speak at each meeting from now on.
Ray Mendoza entertained the board with songs to his own piano accompaniment.

WHAT F. O. B. MEANT
HOUSTON, Tex. Feb.-5.—F. O. B. does not mean full of booze. This is the point over which Norman Atkinson, local attorney, encountered many difficulties in quieting a "rural" client, who believed he had been victimized in a mail order swindle. The client had answered a magazine advertisement which read: "Quart bottles, F. O. B. Houston, for $8.00 a gross." The bottles were full of nothing when received, the client deplored.

ARGENTINA MAY BE BIG OIL PRODUCER
NEW YORK, Feb. 15.—Experts in oil production say that as a result of the rich discoveries of oil in the Comodoro Rivadavia field, Argentina may become one of the world's great sources of fuel. Well No. 128, which came in on February 28 with an initial production of about 1,200 barrels an hour, is continuing to flow at approximately the same rate.
The Comodoro Rivadavia oil producing area is located in the territory of Chubut, in the region called Patagonia, and is more than six hundred miles southwest of Buenos Aires. It was discovered in 1907 when a deep test was being made in an effort to locate a water supply. The government, exercising its ownership of mineral rights, set aside 12,500 acres of land in the district and began the work of exploiting the field. Later another 12,500 acres was reserved.
Since that time 128 wells have been sunk and production has gradually increased up to the present. In 1920 the total production was more than a million barrels. The oil is heavy with small kerosene and gasoline content, and is used principally as fuel oil, being sold to a number of industries in the country. Drilling depths are between 1,500 and 1,800 feet.
