NEWS OF FULLERTON
WILL RAISE MORE FOR HOTEL FUNDS
A campaign is being conducted among the business men of Fullerton to bring the hotel fund up to $150,000. Canvassers are busy making a canvass of the citizens today, and it is hoped, the not an assured fact, that the sum may be raised within a week or 10 days, and it is stated that no further action will be taken on the hotel until this amount is raised. Bids were opened at a recent meeting, and were forced to be healt up from financial reasons. It is said that the lowest bid was a little more than $162,000.
RAIN HOLDS UP PACKING
The Fullerton packing houses have all been forced to keep closed during the rain, and some of them have not made any shipments since the freeze. The greater part of them have made one or two shipments, however.
PATRIOTIC MEETING
Tuesday, Feb. 21, the woman's club will conduct a patriotic meeting in the grammar school auditorium. All Ebell members and their husbands are invited to attend this meeting.
TRIO AT HIBLE CLASS
The Walberg Trio has been employed to furnish music at the meeting of the Houser Bible class of the First Christian church of Fullerton Sunday morning. Rev. J. T. Houser announced today. The Masonic quartette is expected to furnish music the following Sunday. Rev. Houser stated that big programs in addition to the Bible study will be put on each Sunday morning until the contest with Santa Ana is over.
BASEBALL STARTS NEXT WEEK
Fullerton junior college is scheduled to play the Huntington Park "Y" team in a basketball contest at Fullerton tonight. The baseball season is expected to open next week, it is announced.
REPORT PLACENTIA YOUTH IS MISSING
Frank Ramirez, 14-year-old boy, was reported to the Fullerton police this morning to have disappeared from his home in Placentia yesterday. His parents are very much disturbed and have inquired at the homes of many of their friends before taking the matter to the police. It is stated that this is the first time the boy ever went away without telling his folks where he was going. The police are looking for him.
The father of the boy that probably he had stolen a bicycle and got into jail, but investigation did not so show.
HELD FOR VAGRANCY
Russell Tullah, Paul La Salle, John Creeg, Alfred P. Schrock, M. T. Dorcey and George Gardner were arrested last night by the Fullerton police on the charge of vagrancy. They are being held in the city jail awaiting arraignment.
HAWAIIAN CONCERT TUESDAY
The Royal Hawaiian Family will put on a big program at the Fullerton grammar school auditorium at 7:45 o'clock Tuesday evening, it was announced today. They will devote their time and talent entirely to a musical program of varied features, and with all kinds of musical instruments.
NEARLY 15 INCHES RAIN
The rainfall in Fullerton from 8 o'clock yesterday morning until 8 o'clock this morning was .10, it was stated this morning at the Placentia Orange Growers' Ass'n. This made it about an inch and a half for this rain, and about 14½ inches for the season, compared with a little more than 5 inches at this season last year.

BRIDGE CLUB ORGANIZED
The Wednesday afternoon bridge club was organized yesterday at the home of Mrs. C. Bacon of Fullerton, and will hold regular monthly meetings. Mrs. E. Smith was elected president, and Mrs. C. B Hutchinson, secretary. Mrs. Welch was a guest and the following are charter members: Mrs. A. Brown, Mrs. J. L. Hill, Mrs. Kember, Mrs. C. B Hutchinson, A. Carpenter, Mrs. King, Mrs. M. Menges, Mrs. C. Clever, Mrs. Mulrin, Mrs. F. Morris, and Mrs. E. Smith. Refreshments were served.
DELIGHTFUL HOSTESS
Mrs. E. Till was the delightful hostess Wednesday afternoon when she entertained the members of the Orangethorpe Card club at the home of Mrs. C. E. Smith, on Brookhurst Ave. Five hundred was the entertaining feature, at which Mrs. Roy Lovering scored highest and Mrs. J. Dickinson second. In spite of the unpleasant weather, all the members were present and a most enjoyable afternoon was spent. At the close of the games Mrs. Till served refreshments to her guests.
ENTERTAIN AT CARDS
Mr. and Mrs. D. Ellis of 121 E. Glenwood entertained last evening with a card party in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Q. Fogle, who are leaving today for their home in the east after visiting here for several months with friends and relations. Other guests were Miss Eva Houston, Miss Mamie Fogle, Mr. Ray Yerian and Mr. and Mrs. L. W. McKelvey. Following the games a light luncheon was served by Mrs. Ellis.

Little Billy Dupuy returned to school this morning after several days absence. While playing in a big tree on the school grounds the other day he fell, receiving a very painful bump which kept him home for several days.
The civic section of the Ebell club met this afternoon in the Odd Fellows hall. Mrs. Barry president of the Better Films organization was the speaker of the afternoon.
Miss Sarah McRae left yesterday over the Santa Fe for Seattle on account of the death of her mother. She was a teacher in the Fullerton high school, and her friends are very much grieved over her bereavement.
Miss Onega Gregory of St. Louis Missouri, is visiting here with her sister, Mrs. Sobinsky.
Mrs. F. E. Moll is confined to her room with a severe cold.
Mrs. C. L. McComber was a guest yesterday afternoon at a luncheon given by Mrs. Wilber in the new Elks home.
Mr. and Mrs. Corbett are leaving in a few days for their home at Redondo where they will reside for six months or a year. Their daughter will occupy their home here during their absence.

According to the word of the management of the California Theatre, they are having an act today that is something different from any ever seen at the local cinema palace. Bert and Marion Royce will offer their original comedy novelty act, "Ole Olson In Spiritland," the act that has made millions laugh. Ole Olson's antics in "Spiritland" are the essence of fun, and set the children wild with delight. Spiritland is like a trip through fairyland. You will have to keep your eyes open and your attention fixed to follow the different changes, they are so sudden and astonishing. People disappear and reappear miraculously from somewhere else. Inanimate objects walk about the stage with marvelous dexterity all in the twinkling of an eye.
On the same program will be seen Wallace Reid in his latest comedy-drama success, "Rent Free." Everyone knows the delightful entertainment there is in store when any of this star's phododramas are thrown upon the silversheet.
All in all, it's a program of unusual interest to the theater-going people of Anaheim.

CELEBRATES SISTER'S BIRTHDAY
A double affair occurred at the J. L. Schumacher home in Long Beach last evening when a number of Anaheim's young ladies motored to that place. The incentive for the affair was the birthday anniversary of Miss Marcella Weber, Mrs. Schumacher, sister of Miss Weber, had invited her down for the evening and when she arrived at the home in Long Beach she found a coterie of her girl friends. All remained there for the evening, having a slumber party. The birthday dinner was smartly appointed and was set at 6:30, the piece de resistance being the huge cake with a sufficient number of candles. After dinner the girls were on the pike and enjoyed the various amusements, including dancing. In the party were the Misses Philura Sparkes, Hazel Rainey, Lucille Bastian, Helen Weber, Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Schumacher, and the honoree, Miss Weber.

BRITAIN OPPOSES GENOA MEET DELAY
LONDON, Feb. 16—The foreign office today formally informed the French government through Comte de St. Aulaire, the French ambassador, that Breat Britain is opposed to a postponement of the Genoa conference. The Genoa meeting is scheduled to open on March 8.
