60 FROM BEACH AT REVIVAL TONIGHT
Attendance at the revival service at the Grand theatre was the largest last night since the campaign opened. Evangelist U. E. Harding preached on the subject, "Why Your Prayers are Not Being Answered."
Tonight will be known as Long Beach night, when more than 60 people will motor over to attend the service. Chorus singing by the beach people will form a part of the program for the evening. Evangelist Harding will preach on the subject "Broken Vows and the Results." The mixed quartette will sing another group of Nebro Spirituales.
"Why are your prayers not being answered?" asked Evangelist Harding. Simply because you do not live close enough to the Lord. He says in His word, "If ye abide in me and my words abide in you, ye may ask what ye will, and it shall be granted unto you." Another reason may be that you are holding something against some one, and Jesus says, "If ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father in heaven forgive your trespasses." We must hold as grudge against no man and we must abide in Christ, if we want our prayers answered. We must pray oftentimes and hold on to God and our prayers will be answered.
"One of the most important subjects in the Bible today, and one of the most important that is facing the church today is prayer. The church, as a whole, is failing in its prayer life. We are a failure because we do not pray enough. In this age of apostacy, and I believe it is upon us, we need to pray. We are not a prayerless people, yet we cannot say we are a prayerful people. Lets wake up and not fall in our cause for Jesus Christ."
"What has become of our family altars? It means something in this day and age to keep up the family attar. One of the reasons our children are going to the devil is because the fathers and mothers have quit praying the glory down around the family altar."
"Do you pray much in secret? We do not have enough secret prayer."

HOLDERMAN GIVEN MEDAL BY ITALY
Another war medal—the fifth—has been pinned upon the breast of Captain Nelson M. Holderman, Santa Ann, a hero of the Lost Battallion.
This award is the Italian War Cross.
Six months ago, for gallantry in the stand of the Lost Battallion, Holderman was awarded the highest American military award, the Congressional Medal of Honor. Before his return to the United States from France in 1919, Holderman was presented by the French with a Croix de Guerre for unusual bravery exhibited in the Argonne in encouraging his company to hold a difficult position under terrific fire—this incident in Holderman's career bears a date several days in advance of the separation of the battallion from the main line—and with a Croix de Guerre for leading a sortie to clean out Germans who had occupied barbed wire lines on one side of the battallion. In France, too, Holderman was presented with the American Distinguished Service Cross, for his part in the fight of the battallion.
