BARGAINS ATTRACT MANY TO ANAHEIM Tuesday's sales day results, when the final returns were in at the close of the day, were all that could have been expected, merchants today declared. The rain of a prosperous day's business fell upon hot advertisers as well as advertisers, and regular lines as well as the special bargain lines were in unusual demand; store managers said. Business held up well throughout the day except in a few instances. Many of the bargains are being still offered. Weber's Book & Music store had a good run of patronage during shopping hours. Not only the special bargains in stationery, but the staple lines of goods were in excellent demand, it was said. "Trade was good all day," said M. Lichtenstein of the Style Shop, which is offering an unusually attractive number of dainty gowns and other women's garments. The special offer on hats at P. A. Yungblut's store brought a good run of buyers to the place, said A. J. Schwartz, manager. In consequence the regular lines of men's goods also sold well. The Bake-Rite Bakery sold 300 dozen cookies during the day. In fact by five p.m. most of the goods on hand had been cleaned out, it was said. The White Lily Bakery had the same experience, though a daily cleanup is not an exceptional thing for the store, it was explained. The Anaheim Music & Novelty Co., which is offering a fine assortment of imported Hungarian beaded bags, already has disposed of an unusual number, owing to special advertising and the general increase in business here recently. Buck & Gibson had an excellent day, but still has on hand many of the same bargain lines offered yesterday, said W. R. Buck. "We had repeated calls for the soaps offered," Heying's Pharmacy reported, "indicating that the advertisements were freely read." "We were awfully busy," said H. E. W. Barnes of the Stroup-Barnes Furniture Co. The store, however, did not receive word in time to prepare for the sale; said Barnes. "We sold about all our specials by ten o'clock.
