Weekly luncheons of the Santa Ana Realty board were today inaugurated. Matters pertaining to the state convention of realtors to be held in San Francisco Thursday, Friday and Saturday of this week, were discussed, as well as other matters of interest to dealers. Standing committees for the year were announced.
It is intended to make the weekly luncheons of unusual interest to real estate men, and these meetings will be conducted along lines similar to the Kiwanis, Rotary and Lions clubs. Men who are prominent in real estate and other business activities will be invited to address the meetings.
Indications today were that a large number of Orange county realtors would attend the convention.
DON'T LIKE IT BROT HOME
NEW YORK, Jan. 17. — We aren't especially sensitive here in this big city, because we know that no matter what the rest of the country may say about us, they like to come and visit us pretty well, after all, and anyway.
We know what a fine city we are. But when the chief executive of our own state goes on record as favoring more insane asylums near the metropolitan district, it does ruffle us a bill. And that's what Governor Miller did the other day.

What Happened To the Roues of Paris
In the days of Louis XV a notorious Irish doctor, banned from his country for malpractice, found himself stranded in Paris. Just at this period one of the epodial discoveries of medical science was revealed—a narcotic of vast value in certain conditions.
This doctor found that the drug acted as a strong stimulant and began making it up into pills, which were freely taken by the run-down routes of the gay city. His nostrum was in tremendous vogue for a while, but soon his patients had to take more and more of it to get the desired effect, until finally its efficacy was entirely gone and the fraudulent doctor was driven from the city—leaving behind him untold misery.
In this regard the world has progressed little. Today the greatest health discovery of all times is being prostituted to the greed of fakers, who similarly conspireize the credulity of suffering mankind. The public is being led to believe that
VITAMINES
is a quick cure for every ill that afflicts the human body. Nothing of the sort! Uncle Sam, in his experimental kitchens, has found that Vitamines are a food, not a medicine. The world's greatest scientists are against that Vitamines are the element in our food which sustains life. They also agree that our present method of food preparation destroys the natural Vitamine content of the food we eat. Hence one of these scientists has ap-
proved and perfected a new tonic for Susto
which contains all the known Vitamins of eggs, rice, fruit, yeast, vegetables, which if taken regularly puts back the diet the life-giving Vitamines we improperly cook takes away.
SUSTO contains nothing harmful—they are entirely beneficial. It is so did under-weight children, as we poorly nourished adults.
SUSTO is not a medicine. It is a balancer—it adds to the daily diet growth-promoting, strength and lifelong elements that we are not getting our daily food and which are as neces as fresh air to sustain life.
If you are irritable, pale and nervous thin, worn out and haggard, take SUSTO this wonderfully efficient new tonic there is nothing like it to build strength and energy, and you will not an improvement in weight, physicalness and general "pep" in a surprising short time. All druggists sell SUSTO sure to get genuine SUSTO Vitamin—only $1.00 per package. Ask for re-ons SUSTO by famous authority.

60-YEAR-OLD TREE
COMES DOWN TODAY
The end of a magnificent pine upwards of 60 years old, standing in front of the old house at 214 North Los Angeles street, came down this morning, when a crew of laborers under the direction of Julian Barraza felled it. The house for ten or twelve years was occupied by William Crother and family, and still is owned by Crother estate. The family vacated it some 36 years ago. The present tenant is L. K. Marshall.
The tree had split and the damage was increased by recent wind storms until the Marshals became worried lest it fall over on the house during the night. George Dunton's garage also was threatened.
A big rubber tree received the impact of its neighbor's fall and lost one or two limbs.

HOME-MADE FLOOR POLISH
A good polish for hardwood floors is made as follows: Melt together in a bowl set in hot water, one-half pint of turpentine, two and one-half ounces powdered resin and quarters pound beecwax. Do not let these ingredients come in contact with fire while being melted, as they are inflammable. When melted, apply with a soft cloth and polish with a brush.
PREPARES MEAL
That it will perform about 95 per cent of the work of preparing a meal is the claim of the inventor of a new electric kitchen utensil.

STRANGER SAVES HIS LIFE
SANTA BARBARA, Jan. 17.—Geo. Bellinger's life was saved by a stranger, when his jugular vein was severed in an auto crash here. The stranger seized the spurting artery with thumb and finger and told Bellinger to hold it the same way. Then he assisted Bellinger into his own car and drove him to the Cottage Hospital, Santa Barbara, where Dr. Rexald Brown sewed up the artery. Bellinger is an auto salesman of Oxnard. The stranger left without giving his name.

MEAT HIGHEST IN CAL., SAYS RUETHER
Production of meat has fallen off in So. Calif. annually for many years past, the Rotary club was told by John Ruether, of the Anaheim Beef Co., who said that in 1905 this part of the state produced 40 pet. more livestock than now. So. Calif. now depends principally on the Middle and Rocky Mountain states for its meat, he said. Tourist hotels now are paying a premium for the better cuts of meat so there is little likelihood of meat coming down this year.
Prices now are the highest of any state in the union, Ruether declared.
The "Big Five" packers handle only 20 pet. of all the meat consumed in the country, the speaker said. They will not open retail stores of their own, in Ruether's opinion, because they failed to make such stores succeed when they tried it before.
The speech was one of the most interesting the club has heard for months past. Only one member was absent.
The club is considering the purchase of a piano and the fitting up of a dining-room of its own in the Elks' clubhouse.
