TON BANKS JOY PROSPERITY The First National Bank of Fullerton declared a dividend of 10 percent for the half year just closed, it was announced at the office of F. C. Krause, president. The Savings Bank dividend for the past half year amounted to 8 per cent. The employees of the bank were given a bonus of 20 per cent for the six months. The dividend for the year in the National Bank was 20 per cent, and in the Savings Bank 16 per cent. The regular meeting will be held the second Tuesday in January. The Standard Bank of Fullerton recapped a dividend for the year of 10½ per cent. The annual meeting will be held in February. The annual meeting of the Farmers and Merchants Bank of Fullerton was held Friday, and a splendid half year was announced. The Bank is working under the profit-sharing plan with its employees, and it was stated the employees were more than pleased with their share of the profits at the end of this half year. Plain Dealer Want Ads Bring Results. EXPECT REMAINS OF SOLDIER WEDNESDAY The remains of Howard A. Thornton, soldier in the World War, with an attendant will arrive in Fullerton over the Santa Fe at 3:42 p.m. tomorrow, according to a telegram received by J. E. Seale funeral director. Thornton died in France, and his remains are being brot back to be interred at his old home town of Artesia. Arrangements will be made to meet the body at the depot. HOUSER SPEAKS AT ORANGE Rev. John T. Houser of the Fullerton Bible class will deliver an address at the Orange Bible class on Friday night. AGED FULLERTON MAN DIES Daniel A. Burritt, 81, died at his home on East Amerege-ave, Fullerton, Saturday night. He is survived by a widow, a daughter and two sons. All his family was present before his death. He has been here two years. Funeral services were held at 2 o'clock this afternoon from the McAulay funeral parlor, Rev. E. J. Statom of the First Presbyterian church of Fullerton officiating. Covers were laid for Mr. and Mrs. N. H. Jordan, Mrs. L. Sheep and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. R. T. Martin, Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Alcorn and host and hostess Mr. and Mrs. C. M. Frank. Decorations were in the Christmas colors and suggestions. HELD FOR ORANGE THEFT Charles-Cooper, Jerold Lutschg, Clark Lutschg and Earl Pequay were arraigned before Juddge French in the Fullerton police court this morning on the charge of stealing oranges. The case was suspended. F. L. Dioley was to be arraigned this afternoon on the charge of getting drunk. DEAD OF WHOOPING COUGH The six months old child of Mr. and Mrs. Vincent Morales died at Richfield Saturday evening of whooping cough. It is the second child to die in that family in a week. Funeral services were held this afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Scale funeral parlors. Interment was at Yorba cemetery. CREMATE BODY OF WOMAN Nettie E., Desirella, 56, died Sunday night at her home in Placentia. She leaves a son, Fred A., Desirella two brothers, W. F. and Charles B., Andrews, and a sister, Mrs. G. N., Peterson of Placentia. Funeral services were held this morning at the MeAulay funeral parlor. Private cremation will be in Los Angeles Wednesday. JUDGE FRENCH KEEPS BUSY Judge French has been busy, C. Sanala, arraigned on the charge of battery, was dismissed. A. Trazler, James Schumacker, Frank Baker, and A. Bheffron were arraigned on the charge of vagrancy, and sentenced to 30 days each in the county jail; sentence suspended. OLINDA NEWS OLINDA LEASE, Jan. 3 — (Spl.) Miss Helen Scribner and Mr.Jesse Rohrer of Placentia were quietly married at the Methodist parsonage Thursday at 4:30 o'clock by Rev.Kent, with Mr. and Mrs.M.R.Scribner, parents of the bride and Mrs.Wilfred Kent as witnesses. The bride was beautifully dressed in a dark blue canton crepe dress, black velvet hat and black shoes.The dark of her costume was beautifully set off by her fair complexion.She chose to carry no flowers. Miss Rohrer has lived in Olinda for many years where she has made a host of friends by whom she will be missed very much.She has bona active in both church and Sunday school work and will especially be missed there.Besides her many friends in Olinda she is also well known in Anaheim and other surrounding places.Her neighbors and friends join in wishing them a happy married life.Having not lived in this section of the state very long,the groom is not well known here but has many friends in Tulare,his home town. After the ceremony the bride and groom left immediately for Los Angeles where they remained until Sunday.Upon their return they will make their home in Placentia,where Mr.Rohrer's work is located. A most interesting program has been arranged for the January meeting of the Women's Ass'n in Olinda, which will be held on Thursday afternoon, January 5th at 2 o'clock at the home of Mrs. William Travers on the Olinda Lease. Miss Sue Barnwell, formerly one of the national secretaries of the Y. W. C. A. for work among immigrant women and girls, will be the speaker. She has had many experiences among the foreign born and is well known as a public speaker. A song in foreign costumes will be given by five little girls. This will be the New Year's meeting of the association and there will be appropriate greetings and decorations. The honor guest of the day will be Mrs. Jessie Rohrer, formerly Miss Helen Scribner of the Olinda Lease. The chairmen of committees in charge of this meeting are: program, Mrs. Ashley Doss; hospitality, Mrs. Summons; entertainment, Mrs. Chas. Walnut Growers Institute to be held in Santa Ana High School auditorium all day Friday, January 13th. Local men are making every effort to provide entertainment for visitors expected from other counties, combining pleasure with the strenuous hours of concentrated thought on many questions coming up for discussion. Every speaker asked to appear on the program is preparing a paper on the subject he is to discuss, which will aid very materially in scheduling the limited time of the day. In addition copies of the minutes of the Institute are to be mailed to every one in attendance, for future reference. Everyone will be asked to register during the day in order to get the benefit of the "follow-up" work contemplated by Institute committee. Walnuts, walnut trees, walnut tree pruning, and walnut tree everything are to be given a prominent place on the day's program. Informal discussions are to be very much in order, giving every one in attendance the opportunity to take part sometime during the day.
