YESTERDAY ELECT
NEW OFFICIALS
ELECTION of officers was the center of interest at the meeting of the California Teachers' Association yesterday, George C. Bush, of South Pasadena, being elected president over Willis T. Newton, of Los Angeles, by a plurality of 300 votes. Mrs. Grace Stanley of San Bernardino won for vice president over Miss Ruth Smart, of Long Beach, Returns from Orange county are delayed in the mails, but it is not believed the final result will be affected.
The proposed amendment increasing the membership fee $5 per year was defeated, and a budget of $11,-500 for 1922 was adopted.
Many prominent educators from all over the country are addressing the body among them being Dr. G. Bromley, Walter A. Jessup, of Iowa University, Fred M. Hunter, supt. of the Oakland schools, Miss Hleanor Colby, Dr. Edward Slisson, of Reed College, Portland; Dr. Charles Judd, University of Chicago, Payson Smith, commissioner of education, Boston, and many other notables.

lor College sang three numbers at this morning's session, being the only Orange county contribution to the three days' meeting.
LADIES AID MEETING YESTERDAY
The Aid society of the Presbyterian church held the regular business meeting yesterday afternoon in the church, but the session was short, the rain and the very busy season interfering considerably with attendance.
After the routine business a short social time was enjoyed and refreshments were served by the committee composed of Mrs. Miller, Mrs. Oelke, Mrs. Mills and Mrs. Kelly.
MARRIED IN ANAHEIM. TRAVEL IN EAST
Raymond Smith, of Whittier, and Miss Pearl Gerry, of Los Angeles, were united in marriage yesterday afternoon at 2 o'clock, the ceremony being performed by Dr. Geissinger, in the parsonage. The young couple was accompanied by Miss Hazel Gerry, sister of the bride, and Mr. Leonard Fox, a close friend of the young people. The newlyweds left at once on a honeymoon journey which will take them on an extended trip through the east.

THE F. N. Gibbs home 929 E.
Center street, was made the scene of a merry party last evening when the employees of the Gibbs' lumber Co., of Anaheim, Fullerton and Placentia gathered at this home to compliment him with a good old Xmas surprise party. The guests of the evening had arrived about 6:30 and Mrs. Gibbs had prepared a most delicious supper, which was served cafeteria style. As a reminder of the occasion, Mr. Gibbs was made the recipient of a beautiful floor lamp.
The rooms were most attractive in their decorative colors of flaming poinsettias while Xmas bells and tinsels adorned the walls and corners. In one corner stood a handsome young Xmas tree with all the trimming, Mrs. Gibbs had prepared a grab box and this was filled with many little mysterious packages of all sizes and descriptions, the box being fixed with a pretty covering. A string was attached to each present and the guests of the evening had to draw from the pack, and such presents as they did draw. Other pleasing pastimes were enjoyed throughout the evening and late the guests departed wishing the Gibbs family a "Merry Xmas." Those enjoying the evening at the palatial Gibbs home were the Messrs and Mesdames A. E. Clark and son Albert, W. E. Amsbrey, Arnold Enearl, Waldo McWilliams of Fullerton, Henry Patton and three children of Fullerton, Miss Beatrice Armstrong and Fred and Robert Amabry, Gains and son Dick of Placentia, and the Gibbs family, Mr. and Mrs. F. N. Gibbs and children Oscar, Ellen and Caroline.

Owing to the bad weather conditions, the large class of candidates which was to have been innitated into the order of the Fraternal Brotherhood last evening, will be put thru the initiatory work on the special meeting on Dec. 29, in the I. O. O. F. hall. Several other candidates have been added to the class. At this meeting will occur the annual election of officers. The present high off.
PATRIARCHAL DEGREE TONIGHT
At the meeting of the Encampment of Odd Fellows in their lodge rooms at the I. O. O. F. hall this evening, the Patriarchal degree will be put on.
McGHEE BUILDS BUNGALOW
Trudeau and Wilcox began this morning the erection of a bungalow for Mr. McGhee on Chestnut-st., west of Walnut-st. Materials are being furnished by the Gibbs Lumber Co.
TREAT FOR KIDDIES TOMORROW
About one hundred boxes of candy and other good things are awaiting distribution to that number of children in Anaheim, which will be given out tomorrow afternoon at 2:30 in the Maxwell Spiritual Church, 425 North Olive street.
All children and their mothers are invited, and a nice program will be given before the candy is distributed. Especially are those of the less fortunate class asked, and a good time, with a pretty tree upon which to feast the eye is promised.

TELEPHONE GIRLS' XMAS PARTY
All the operators of the local telephone held a Christmas jollification last evening after work hours, with the exception of one of the girls who was left in charge of the switchboard.
Repairing to the comfortable rest room in the rear of the exchange, the girls found a Christmas tree, gorgeous in its decorations and bearing many mysterious packages. As names were called and packages distributed, gleeful "ohs" and "ahs" were heard, and each girl declared her particular gift was the one most desirable of all. Thirteen of the girls participated, the one doing her duty.

Frank Davies of Alhambra was admitted to the Anaheim sanitarium today as a patient.
I. W. Polling and family are planning a busy Xmas season. On Xmas eve they will be the guests of their daughter, Mrs. Chinn in Pomona. On Xmas day they will go to Sierra Power House where they will pass the day with another daughter, Mrs. Beasley. Monday will be spent with another daughter, Mrs. Williams in Alhambra.
Mr. and Mrs. Wm. N. Polston will spend their Xmas in Balboa.
Misses Peggy Schneider and Ruth Reed students at Pomona College, arrived home yesterday to spend their vacation with their parents.
Mr. and Mrs. E. L. Hunter and family will spend their Xmas vacation in San Diego.
Misses Beverly and Josephine Smith are spending their vacation with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Smith. They are registered at Pomona college.
Mrs. L. N. Gibbs, of Los Angeles, mother of F. N. Gibbs, will be the guest on Xmas day of the Gibbs family.
On Monday, Mr. and Mrs. F. N. Gibbs and children, Oscar, Ellen, and Caroline and Mrs. L. N. Gibbs will motor to Riverside.
Mr. and Mrs. Claude Allan of Buena Park and Mr. and Mrs. Luther Strain will be dinner guests of the Chas Recknor family on Xmas day.
Miss Lillis Johnston is home for the holidays from Pomona college.
Frank C. Monroe of Pasadena will be the dinner guest on Monday of the J.C. Reed family. Mrs.Reed is the daughter of Mr.Monroe.
Mr. and Mrs.J.H.Ritchie will spend Sunday and Monday at the home of Mr.Mrs.James Cram in Highlands.

WEDDED HERE BY M. E. PASTOR
Dr. J. A. Geissinger performed the ceremony last night at nine o'clock which united Miss Bertha Olive Haas of Riverside, and Mr. Homer Webb House in marriage, the ceremony occurring in the parsonage. The young people, accompanied by several couples of their friends, drove over from Riverside, where the groom is employed, took their vows, and left for San Diego on a honeymoon trip.
The groom is a brother of Mr. David House, on South Olive, and formerly resided here.
"WHITE CHRISTMAS" AT M. E. CHURCH TONIGHT
The children of the White Temple Sunday school are planning a Christmas of giving rather than one of receiving, and at the entertainment tonight at 7:30 in the church, a "White Christmas" social will be held.
Every class in this large Sunday school will contribute a present of food or clothing for orphanages and for the children of needy local homes. An offering will be taken during the evening, the money to further help for the needy. A program of music and readings promises excellent entertainment for all. A cordial invitation is extended to everyone.

Mr. and Mrs. D. W. Swingle will spend the Xmas holiday and week-end with the parents of Mrs. Swingle in Pomona.
