Thursday, December 8, 1921 Buena Park News BUUENA PARK, Dec. 8—(Spl.) Mr. and Mrs. M. E. Durand of Artesta entertained with a four course dinner on Monday evening. The living and dining rooms were beautifully decorated for the occasion. The evening was enjoyed in playing "500". Covers were laid for Mr. and Mrs. Jack Golden of Buena Park, Mr. and Mrs. A. D. Durand and host and hostess. Some one attempted to enter the library thru the window, but strong locks had been put on all the windows since the last robbery some months ago, and the intruder could not gain entrance. The library board have offered a reward of $5.00 for the arrest and conviction of any one caught meddling with the library property or attempting to enter the building. Mr. and Mrs. D. B. Brown enjoyed a visit from Mrs. H. E. Gallagher and Mrs. McClelland of Long Beach on Monday. Mrs. George W. Mahr is visiting with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fay at Escondido. KILL DEER W 384 LBS. DRESSED CALGARY, Alta., Dec. 8. — From Creston, British Columbia, comes the report of the biggest cottontail deer ever taken in the Kootenay country. The animal weighed 384 pounds dressed and fell to the gun of Richard Peterson, who ranches near the soldier settlement of Lister. The soldiers in this district are reported to be having fine luck in getting venison. Bears are also plentiful. Most of the pipe is now out and drilling will be going ahead again in a few days. The drilling has been mostly in hard sand. The Fullerton Oil Co. is spudding in on No. 17. The location and grade has been made for No. 18. No. 16 a recent completion is making close to 400 barrels. At Olinda the Chansler Canfield Midway has No. 94 drilling at 3675. HISTORICAL CLUB COLLECTING WILLS PHILADELPHIA, Dec. 8.—Copies of the wills of five of the fifty-six patriots who affixed their signatures to the piece of parchment which made the thirteen original states an independent nation, are being sought here by the Society of the Descendants of the Signers of the Declaration of Independence. Wills of thirty-eight of the signers are now in the collection of the society, nine signers died intestate and wills of four were either destroyed in fires or sometime during the Civil War, leaving five still missing. The five men whose wills are sought are: Samuel Chase, Maryland; Geo. Wythe, Virginia; William Hooper, North Carolina; William Lynch, So. Carolina, and George Walton, Georgia.
