SOCIETY
HAS MANY LOCAL FRIENDS
A wedding of utmost simplicity, although of deep interest to many Anahaim young people, was that of Wed neaday, when Miss Lulu Ruble, of Los Angeles, was united in marriage to Mr. Robert A. Kitchen, a prominent attorney, of Little Rock, Arkansas, the ceremony being performed in Immanuel Presbyterian church, Los Angeles, at 4 o'clock, Rev. Smith, pastor, also a college mate of the groom, officiating.
A large party of friends attended the ceremony, which was informal, the bride and groom leaving immediately upon the honeymoon journey, which will take them through the Panama canal. They will pass Christmas in Havana, then continue their journey to New York and from there go to their home in Arkansas.
The bride wore a navy blue tailour, echandsomely embroidered with ostrich trimmed hat and carried an arm bouquet of Cecil Bruner roses. Couple was unattended, Mr. Arthur Chapman rendered a program at the organ preceding the ceremony, and played softly during the vows. Mrs. Kitchen, as Miss Ruble, has visited here with Mr. and Mrs. H. F. Dierker many times and made many friends. The Dierkers were guests at the wedding.
MID-AFTERNOON FAMILY
DINNER
The O. E. Steward home on N. Phil adelphia was the scene of a merry gathering yesterday afternoon when Thanksgiving day was celebrated with a three o'clock dinner, turkey being the main issue of the menu. The rooms were very prettily decorated in yellow chrysanthemums and roses, with greenery intermingling. The evening was very enjoyably spent with music. Covers were laid for Mrs. L. G. Steward of Santa Ana,
Miss Alma Steward of Santa Ana, Mr. and Mrs. L. S. Steward of Los Angeles; Arthur Steward of Los Angeles, and Mr. and Mrs. O. E. Steward and children, Wendell and Kathryn.
PRETTILY APPOINTED DINNER
A family reunion was enjoyed yesterday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd West when they entertained with a genuine Thanksgiving dinner. Roses and greenery formed a very prettily arranged room. The center piece was a basket filled with fruit. Covers were placed for Mr. and Mrs. Geo. L. West, Mr. and Mrs. C. H. West and the host and hostess, Mr. and Mrs. F. G. West.
DINNER AT PARENT HOME
Another family gathering of the holiday period was that of the J. H. Whitaker family, 207 North Palmst., which enjoyed a turkey feast with all the good accompaniments. Members of the family seated about the festal board were Mr. and Mrs. James Whitaker, Miss Julia Marble, of Los Angeles, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Maas and two children and Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Whitaker.
Constance Tallmadge is at the California in "Wedding Bells." There is also an overture, kinograms, an organ selection, a comedy picture and a vaudeville novelty. The greater part of this program will be repeated tomorrow afternoon and night.
