THREE EVENTS IN TRAPP JR. FAMILY DULY CELEBRATED
AN EVENT of triple importance was in the William Trapp Jr., family was fittingly celebrated yesterday at their home. November 20 was the birthday anniversary of Mr. Trapp and also of three-year-old Roy Trapp, and a big dinner in honor of the occasion was prepared. Little Helen Mildred Trapp, who is the five-weeks-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Trapp, was christened yesterday Rev. Schmelzer, of Zion Lutheran church, performing the ceremony.
Immediately after church the guests repaired to the home, which was beautifully trimmed with ferns, smilax and pink and white roses. The table was centered with a pink and white floral piece and two lovely birthday cakes, one in plain white, for the father, the other in pink and white, for the little son, each carrying the required number of candles.
Plates were arranged for the following guests: Rev. and Mrs. Schmelzer and family, Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Kahlen and family, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Rodgers and baby, Mr. and Mrs. Fred. Westerhold and family, Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Kahlen, Jr., Mrs. Henning and Mr. and Mrs. Trapp, Jr., and family.

SHERWOOD PUPILS IN RECITAL SHOW CREDITABLE WORK
MISS EDNA HOCHULI entertained informally on Saturday afternoon for the pleasure of her piano pupils. The first part of the afternoon was given over to the recital that was planned by the members of the Sherwood pupils and the teacher. Those taking part on the program were Grace and Clarence Mauerhan, Fern Hein, Helen Grimm, Lillian Hitt, Louise Schneider, and Milfred Mauerhan. They responded with great aptness on their part, each giving the part of the work as was carefully shown. At the end of the program, Miss Hochuli averaged the grades of the pupils to see who would win the first three prizes that were offered. The grades were from three months back and the highest grades were won by Miss Louise Schneider; first, Grace and Clarence Mauerhan tied for second, and Fern Hein was given the pleasure of the third prize. The remainder of the afternoon was pleasantly passed with games.
The rooms were decorated in the Thanksgiving colors and seasonal flowers. After a very delightful afternoon, the hostess assisted by her mother, Mrs. Jacob Hochull, and sister, Mrs. Chas. Schneider, served delicious refreshments in keeping with the time of the year.

THREE O.F. TEAMS CONFER DEGREES ON LARGE CLASS
MOST one thousand Odd Fellows went to Santa Ana Saturday evening where members from the seven lodges in Orange county, and several auto loads from Redlands, Redondo and Oxnard gathered to witness the initiation of 85 candidates into the order.
At 6:30 a parade was held in which the candidates and more than 700 Odd Fellows took part, crowds of Santa Ana townspeople enjoying the showing of enthusiasm. The I. O. O. F. Bands furnished the musics. Comic posters and several hundred torches enlightened the scene, which was cheered from all sides. After the parade the members adjourned to the candidates, Redlands, Oxnard and Redondo lodges conferring the three degrees, and were later accorded greatest praise.
After lodge an elaborate banquet was served which was greatly enjoyed. The Odd Fellows returned to their homes in time to dress for church, but well pleased with the night's work.
LITTLE FRIENDS GIVE PARTY
A double birthday celebration was held Saturday afternoon at the K. Ellis home on S. Illinois street, in honor of Master George Ellis, who had attained the age of ten years, and his little friend, Mabel Luebow, who was nine on the same date.
The table was most handsomely appointed, the centerpiece being a very large white birthday cake, baked in tiers, and decorated with jing roses and on one side the name "Mabel."
and on the other, "George," this being baked by Mr. Ludlow, who is associated with the Boston Baker's cream and home made candies were served with a generous helping of the pretty cake. Glowing poinsettias were used for decorative features in the rooms.
Out of door games were played for a time, and later, upon coming into the house, the contests occupied an exciting while. In the game of "Robin," Jack Hodges won first prize and George Brenden cusolation, and in pinning the tail on the mule, Moha Taggert was victorious, and Mary Brenner missed the mule the greatest distance, each getting a prize.
The fourteen little people enjoying the afternoon together were Eleanor Tuckert, Margaret Brenner, Fern Hein, Mona Taggert, Florence Simons, Donald Taggert, George and Billie Brenner, Jack Hodges, Edwin Osher, Carl Simmons and the little hostess and host, Mabel Luebow and George Ellis.
