NEWS OF FULLERTON
HOTEL COMMITTEE
ACCEPTS CITY SITE
FULLERTON—HOTEL COMMITTEE
The board of directors of the Community Hotel of Fullerton last night appeared before Fullerton trustees and reported that they would accept the site from the city on No. Spadra-rd just north of the city hall at the city's former offer of cost. The matter was referred to the city attorney. There will be a meeting of the hotel committee and the board of trustees at a later date.
BENCHLEY CHANGES
TO M. O. D. POLICY
The Benchley Fruit Co. of Fullerton, since its incorporation as an independent fruit concern, today announced a change in its policy from an independent cash buyer to a grower's co-operative institution, and will thus combine the advantage of association ideas with the best points of an independent concern. Fruit will be packed at cost and sold thru the Mutual Orange distributors.
This is the oldest independent house in Orange-co, William Benchley, manager, stated this morning. He stated that there will be no change in the officials, and the fruit will be packed under their own labels. The change was made with the view of getting closer to the grower and under the new arrangements the fruit will be picked when the grower wants it picked, he said.
ADOPT RESERVOIR PLAN
Two plans for a new city reservoir were submitted last night at the regular meeting of Fullerton trustees, and after much discussion a resolution of adoption was passed. The plat adopted is estimated to cost of about $60,000.
PROTEST ORNAMENTAL LIGHTS
The property owners on East Chapman-ave between Pomona and Harvard-ave presented a protest to Fullerton trustees last night against the installation of ornamental lights in that section at this time. The protest was an interesting exhibit of books suitable for young people's home libraries has been arranged at the Fullerton public library for this week. Four of the best bookcases made by boys in the grammar schools are in use each filled with books.
The case made by Georgia Lentz, grade 7b, has a place of honor for a boy's room. Another case made by Charles Swan displays a model library for a girl's room. A book trough made by Amar Vassar shows books suitable for the little people and Grover Wrigley's case is filled with helps for book selection.
On the display table there are also a number of attractive picture books for tittle folks. These are illustrated by some of the best illustrators for children's books, such as Jesse Willcox Smith, Kate Greenaway, Arthur Rackham, Milo Winter, E. Boyd Smith, Louis Ithead and others.
Parents are often puzzled as to what books to buy for Christmas giving. During this week the library is giving away a very attractive and helpful booklist that will not only be a help in Christmas buying but also a guide in the selection of books to borrow. The list is classified and the titles areannotated. All who are at all interested in children’s books and reading are invited to come and see the exhibit and get a book list.
READ ORDINANCE ON FIRE BOUNDARIES
An ordinance fixing the fire district boundaries passed the first reading at the regular meeting of the Fullerton board of trustees last night.

DISCUSS GOLDEN TRACT ROADS
Robert E. Corcoran appeared before the Fullerton trustees last night, and discussed the proposition of roads in the new Golden Tract subdivision. There was a question of just where they should be permitted to cross his property to enter the subdivision.
ANENT STARBUCK-RD
A number of ranchers appeared before Fullerton trustees last night, and asked what action has been taken on the Starbuck-rd. Ten days was allowed at the last meeting of the board for a possible settlement of the controversy, and the time is not yet up. If not satisfied, an interim, the case will be placed back on the docket at the end of this time.
ENTERTAINS FRIENDS
Mr. and Mrs. Hamilton Cray entertained a number of their friends and relatives recently with a dinner party. Coverage was laid for Dr. and Mrs. C. J. Hinman Mr. and Mrs. L. N. Ruggles Mr. and Mrs W. I. Brown and son, Mr. and Mrs A. E. Aheindt, Mr. and Mrs F. E. Pleisimeyer, Mr. and Mrs W. A. Coleman all of Los Angeles and host and hostess Mr. and Mrs H. Crary.
ENJOYABLE EVENING
An enjoyable evening was enjoyed last evening in the social hall of the Methodist church by members of the Thimble club and their friends. A delicious chicken dinner was served after which the guests enjoyed music and games. Those present were Messrs and Mesdames C. A. Ridgeway, Ralph Hadson, Everett Walker, Thomas La Mont, Alfred Scottfield, Otis Scott, M. Renkin, C. Schuebach, King, R. Kerschner, L. E. Proud, F. Davis, N. M. Launer.
KING'S DAUGHTERS MEET
The senior division of the King's Daughters will conduct their business and social meeting Friday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Carl Woods on East Union. As several of the ladies have had birthdays since their last meeting, a month ago, they will also celebrate their birthdays with a little party. The members of the junior division are also invited.

Members of the Fullerton Ebell club are attending the district meeting of the Ebell club in Santa Ana today.
Two major operations were performed this morning at the Fullerton hospital,Mrs.A.Kuenzil of Brea and Mrs.J.M.Moore of Yorba Linda.
The Daughters of Veterans will conduct a meeting for the nominations of officers Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Odd Fellows hall.
Mr.W.M.Knepp returned Saturday from an extended trip to Canada.
Mrs.James Hixon of Wyoming who is spending the winter with her mother,Mrs.Vance of Santa Ana,speent the week-end with her sister,Mrs.J.B.Reed.

AMARANTH COURT HAS GUESTS
With 35 guests last evening, Amaranth court held a very interesting meeting. The 1920 Royal Matrons and Royal Patrons and their trailers, of Los Angeles, came for a visit and exemplified the initiatory work three candidates receiving membership.
The bazaar committee reported the handsome sum of $200 received from the bazaar held Nov. 1, which announcement was accepted with aplause.
After the business meeting refreshments were served from tables decorated very prettily with chrysanthemums, raised and presented by Mrs. E. H. Metcalf.
LEAVES FOR KENTUCKY
Thomas Usrey, a student at the Fullerton high school, was suddenly called back to Kentucky and left for that state yesterday morning.
BIBLE CLASS ENTERTAINED
The Woman's Bible class of the First Methodist Sunday school of Fullerton enjoyed an entertainment last evening at the home of Dr. and Mrs. Lindsey of West Orangethorpe-ave. The challenge given by the men's class for a contest was accepted, and plans were made for the contest. Other business matters were also disposed of.
WILL INSPECT WATER PIPE
W. F. Oglesby discussed with the Fullerton trustees last night the quality of pipe to be used in the water system of the new Stern subdivision in the city, and it was decided that no pipe would be purchased without first having been inspected by the water superintendent.
Sections in the proposed new building ordinance was read, and the matter was postponed until the next meeting of the board.
