PLACENTIA, Nov. 11.—Mrs Sarah B. Dunlevy who has been visiting at the Moreous home for three weeks returned to her home in San Diego Monday.
Mr. and Mrs. Neal Anderson of the Petroleum Lease are rejoicing over the arrival or a ten pound baby girl who arrived at the Fullerton hospital Saturday morning.
Miss Corrine Skiles is spending a few days with friends in Los Angeles. It is a combined shopping and pleasure trip. Miss Skiles will also visit her U.S.C. classmates.
Mr. and Mrs. G.E. Brookins and friends from Oregon who have been visiting with them spent the week end on a trip to Tia Juana, San Diego and other southern cities.
Mr. Herbert Talbert Lloyd has returned to his home in Oakland after spending the week here with friends and attending the funeral of his brother, the late John A. Lloyd.
Mr. and Mrs. M.A. Merriman had as their dinner guests on Sunday Mr. and Mrs. Furgurne and daughter, Dolores, W.M. Rush of Pasadena and J.A. Loquin recently from Preston.
Gilbert Kraemer, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Backs and Mr. and Mrs. Sam Newnes attended the marriage of Miss Viola Muckenthaler and Mr. Fred La Verne Hayes in the parsonage of St.Boniface church, Anaheim.
Harry Brunadon, Henry Kratt, Henry Shade and Ehos Loujan leave on Wednesday for Lindsay. They expect to get a job packing fruit and will be gone five or six weeks, Harry Brunadon is driving his new Buick and will visit Miss Maiba and Ruth Ferguson their home at Modesto.
Ernest Christensen who has been working at the O.G., packing house and who has been helping at the Courter office at odd times, was taken unite ill at the packing house Friday and compelled to quit work. His mother and sister had already moved to Pasadena and he was staying with his uncle, Al Johnson. He has also moved to Pasadena now and they will make their home there this winter.
Mr. Lee Porter was in Los Angeles on Tuesday on a shopping tour.
Miss Mary Woodard was operated on for appendicitis at the Anaheim sanitarium on Friday.

Gifford Farrar was pleasantly surprised Tuesday evening by a few friends who had been invited by Mrs.Farrar. The evening passed in games and music, the guests informing Mr.Farrar that he can no longer boast that he cannot be surprised. The hostess served dainty refreshments of salad, sandwiches, pineapple ice and rose guest were Mr. and Mrs. McCullah, Mr. and Mrs.J.Monroe, Mr. and Mrs.Gorenfo, Mr. and Mrs.C.W.Cober, Mr. and Mrs.K.L.Fourman, Mrs.Peterson and the host and hostess, Mr. and Mrs.Gifford Farrar.
Chrener Mende and Harry Humphrey motored to Venice and took Park on Sunday and spent the day.
N.H. Anderson, superintendent of the Petroleum company, and Mrs.Anderson are the proud parents of a baby girl born Saturda yat the Fullerton hospital.
A called meeting of th L.T.L.is requested at the Presbyterian church next Saturday at 3 o'clock to put on some practice for entertaining the W.C.T.U.on the 21st of th emonth.
Mr. and Mrs.E.Hockstein will have as their guests on Armistice Day their brother, E.Hockstein, Mr. and Mrs.S.Robinson, Mrs.B.Horowitz, and Alisonberg of San Bernardino.
November 13th to 19th is national book week for children, and numbers of new columes just for the little ones will be ready or display and circulation starting Monday. The needles children will receive special attention all during the week.
Mr. and Mrs.W.W.Blackmar arrived in Placeia Wednesday night after a six months sojourn on their ranch in the great oil district of Peace River, Alberta, Canada. They returned via Edmonton, Calgary, Vancouver, Montreal where they called on "The President" for San Pedro. They saw no snow in Canada when they left November 1st.
Mrs.Fred Cline entertained the wives of the Elks of Anaheim at the home of Mrs.W.Blattner on Wednesday evening. The evening was spent playing Five Hundred and the Elks arrived in time to enjoy the delicious refreshments of chicken patties and their accompaniments. The decorations were chrysanthemums and the place cards carried out the Thanksgiving motif.
Mr. and Mrs Arthur Staley and Mrs.A.I.Pendleton attended the wedding of Miss Gladys Hale of Los Angeles and Dr.Herbert Ford formerly of Fullerton, Monday evening. The ceremony was performed in the church of the Messiahos, Los Angeles. Dr.Dorp is well known here having had a dental office in Fullerton, until last year.

Mr. and Mrs. C. R. Farrar entertained their family at a chicken dinner Wednesday evening in honor of their son Gifford's birthday. Those present were Mr. and Mrs. Gifford Parrri, Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Cobar, Mrs. Glifford, Mrs. J. Peterson and Mr. and Mrs. C. R. Farrar.
Miss Roe Williams, who leaves Monday morning for New York on her way to Veneuela, S. A., will be at the Volunteer Bible class meeting next Sunday morning. She goes over as a foreign missionary to work in a field of great need and is to be supported by

PARIS, Nov. 11 — Som of the leading Paris merchants have chartered from the state a brand new steamer—a cross between a yacht and a trans-Atlantic liner—and fitted it up like a department store.
Yvesel the Racoul-Briquet, left Nantes recently for Baltic ports to make a long stay at each and "open shop" to the inhabitants. All kinds of goods are on board for sale from a toothbrush to a church organ.
Each firn has its own salespeople and business is to be done exactly as in therge.
On this voyage the Raoul-Briquet will be like a floating exhibition to make French goods known on the Baltic market.

We will carry in stock only cars that have been rebuilt in our Los Angeles plant and that present a practically new appearance. Only late models, mostly light cars, will be carried. No old cars or "trade-ins" will be sold here. "Trade-ins" will be sent to our Los Angeles plant if worth rebuilding, otherwise they will be junked. We shall at all times carry as high-grade but low-priced a stock of cars as can be found in any salesroom in So. Calif.
