RE-NUPTIAL GIFT MADE MISS DUMAS IN NOVEL MANNER
HONORING Miss Sylvia Mae Dumas with a farewell shower and party last evening, Misses Hazel Withee and Florence Hammill were joint hostesses at a very pretty affair at the former's home. Miss Dumas is at present making her home with the Withee and knew nothing about the plans made in her honor. When the guests had assembled they quietly went up on the porch and rang the bell, which brought Miss Withee to the door. Here she was met with a chorus which shouted "Hello Sylvia!" The guests entered, and the merriment of the evening commenced.
The early hours were devoted to playing games and a very appropriate one was played in which Miss Dumas was the "goat." Different utensils of a home were given in name to the guests. Someone was "it" and then she gave a little story which took in all the names and as these names were called off they had to get up and exchange seats. After this became tiresome and monotonous, the game was changed to "poor Pussy." After the forfeits were all collected the fun of the evening was to watch each other do the various stunts that were necessary to redeem their fortune. As Miss Dumas had as her task to redeem her forfeit she gave a very clever burlesque of a negro minister at a camp meeting.
When this was closed, Miss Sylvia was presented with an envelope and upon investigation it was found to contain several lines of writing, which said go to the piano. After scouting around she found a paper with more words and a paper bill. Paper bills were found in various parts of the rooms and were accompanied by a little slip of paper which gave her the information where to find another. In the fireplace she found a rainbow and at the end of this were some silver dollars. Miss Dumas was a greatly surprised young lady. The present was given to her to use as she pleases when she reaches her home in Oklahoma. She is saying goodbye to Anaheim friends within the next two weeks, to go back to her home town, where
P.-T. A. ARRANGES HOLIDAY TREAT FOR MEXICAN TOTS
MEETING yesterday afternoon in Broadway school, Anaheim, P.-T. Ass'n, held a very interesting session in which they gave much time to discussion of plans for betterment of conditions among the Mexican children of the school district. A committee consisting of Miss Keuhl, community nurse, and Mrs. Niver, Mrs. Doyle and Mrs. Easton was appointed to have the matter in charge.
It was decided to hold a cooked food sale Saturday afternoon in Schneider's market to raise funds for a Christmas tree for the Mexican children. An all-day meeting will be called soon to dress dolls and make other articles for gifts for the event. An attempt will be made to interest the Mexican mothers in the work.
Mrs. Prince reported that the Community shop will be willing to lend its assistance in the work in every possible way. It may be said to the credit of the Community shop, it has already shown deep interest in the children, and the parents as well, and if only more garments were donated, could be of much greater help, as the clothing is sold for small amounts and the proceeds used as needed in the community.
The treasurer reported $37.34 in the general fund and $69 in the state fund.
A pleasing program opened with two songs by the pupils of Miss Hedstrom's second grade, under the direction of Miss Owen,Miss Alice Grimshaw, accompanied by Miss Gladys Campbell, very pleasingly rendered the solo "Remembrance," and "All for You." The meeting closed with serving refreshments. The next meeting will be held Tuesday, Dec. 13.

Before the evening drew to a close many questions were written and then asked Miss Dumas, who had to answer them faithfully. In this way much of her past and future was revealed.

CHAPTER BP, P.E.O. AS HOSTESS GIVES GOLDEN WEST TEA
ONE of the prettiest society affairs of several seasons occurred yesterday when Chapter B.P., P.E.O., met at the home of Mrs. J. S. Ward, on North Los Angeles street, to act as hostess at a Golden West tea, the guests being Chapters Y, Fullerton, from two to three o'clock; Chapter AB, of Santa Ana, from three to four, and Chapter S, of Orange, from four to five o'clock.
The Ward home was exquisitely arrayed in P. E. O. colors, yellow and white, yellow candles, tied with yellow tule bows, shedding the golden glow over the rooms, softly dimmed by drawn window shades. A basket of large yellow chrysanthemums graced the tea table, and the big nodding blooms were used generously all about the rooms.
Greetings at the door were extended by Mrs. C. C. Smith and Mrs. Charles H. Mann, and in the receiving line were Mrs. J. S. Ward, president of Anaheim chapter, and the house guests, the Meadames C. C. Wagner, past state president, A. A. Bennett, Orange, present state president; W. H. Wickett, president Fullerton chapter; J. F. Kellar, president of Orange chapter; Lacy, president of Santa Ana chapter; Buschell, of Long Beach; Calloway, of Long Beach; J. Lloyd Moore, Long Beach, and R. B. Young, Anaheim. Serving as escorts to the tea table were Mrs. J. L. Van de Veer and Mrs. W. W. Manter, where Mrs. E.C. Rundstrom presided. In charge of serving were Mrs. D. D. Waynick, Mrs. Waynick Jr., and Mrs. F. T. Edmiston, and the dainty little serving girls were the Misses Hazel and Helen Manter, in fluffy lavender gowns.
During the afternoon an orchestra composed of the Misses Ruth Edmison at the piano, and Frances Wallace, cello, and Otto Krestel, violin, discoursed several numbers most delightfully. The success of the pretty affair was greatly due to the efforts of Mrs. J. K. Langdon, chairman of committee in charge; Mrs. Harry Peterson, of the general committee on entertainment, and Mrs. Drake, chairman of the music committee and their energetic assistants. Fully one hundred ladies enjoyed the hospitality of Chapter BP, and the afternoon closed as "the end of a perfect day."
