COUNTY PRODUCES WINTER VEGETABLES
Approach of the close of the 1921 season for the larger crops produced in Orange-co. Brings revelations as to their value that is more or less surprising even to those who are fairly familiar with their volume.
This product will increase the total income of the county for 1921 by more than $3,000,000.
According to estimates made in Los Angeles today by Carlyle Thorpe, general manager of the California Walnut Growers' assn., Orange-co this year will produce 2000 tons more than any other of the walnut producing counties in the state.
There are nine associations in the county and estimates made some weeks ago indicate a total tonnage of 5938 cars. It is believed the actual receipts at the packing houses of shipping nuts will be about 900 tons less.
Early estimates for the various associations were as follows:
Santa Ana, 2069 tons; Orange Co. association, at Santa Ana, 147; Richland, at Orange, 750; Garden Grove, 522; Anaheim, 650; Fullerton, 585; La Habra, 175; Irvine, on San Joaquin ranch, 775; Capistrano, 265.
"A rolling stone gathers no moss," but the people of today prefer the "rolls" to the "moss."
The American who paid five hundred dollars for a "cat" in Paris, should not be criticised. He may have a couple of old bootjacks he wants to get rid of.

OUR FIRST TESTIMONIAL
R.J.A. Daley, President,
Federal Grocery Co., Los Angeles, Cal.
Sir:
We tried out the sample of Pancake Flour sent out and found it to have very satisfactory flavor.
We gave half of it to a customer who buys Pancake Flour regularly. Today her husband told me they liked it very much but he was afraid they did not afford to buy it very often as the day after they used it his wife presented him with twins.
We should have the strength of it slightly weakened.
Yours truly,
J.F.WAGG, Mgr. Store No. 63, La Habra, Calif.
