ANAHEIM GIRL BECOMES BRIDE LAST EVENING THE marriage of an Anaheim girl occurred last evening at six o'clock when Miss Ida L. Seifken of Lincoln avenue, was united in marriage to Mr. Lester D. Rhoads, of Huntington Beach, at Grace Lutheran parsonage. Rev. J. H. Peters officiating. Two friends of the young couple, Miss Alma Clodt and Arthur Roper, accompanied them. The bride wore a very pretty dress of blue taffeta, and carried a bouquet of roses and carnations. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. G. Seifken, and is well known among the young people of Anaheim. Mr. Rhodes is employed in the oil industry near Huntington Beach, and it is there their home will be made after they return from a short honeymoon trip. MR. AND MRS. HANSEN ENTERTAIN The Midnight Club had a very pleasant evening last night when they were entertained at the home of Mr. and Mrs. H Hansen. The rooms were very prettily decorated in large boquets of chrysanthemums. A delicious two-course luncheon was served in the wee sma' hours of the morning. The members playing last night were Messrs. and Mesdames E. K. Stillens of Garden Grove, H. W. Martenet, Bauman, Chas. Hedges, W. H. Houts, Mr. Bert Houts and the host and hostess, Mr. and Mrs. H Hansen. MISS ENSIGN GREETS FRIENDS Miss Ruth Ensign was hostess to a number of friends at a delightful Halloween party at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Ensign, on Los Angeles street, last night. All wall and ceiling decorations, place cards and favors were in the holiday suggestions, being carried out in popular orange and black. Gemes were played and dancing was enjoyed. The music was furnished by the victrola and piano. For floor decorations, corn stalks and pumpkins were used. After the fun, of the evening had subsided, the guests found their places at the long dining table arranged especially for their pleasure. PANTIME CLUB MEETS Mrs Bertha Lacy was the very charming hostess yesterday afternoon when she entertained the members of the Pastime Club. The hours were whiled away with playing five hundred. Prizes were awarded to Mrs. C. F. Grim, Mrs. Normandy and Mrs. J. Janes, respectively. Beautiful dahillas were used in the living and dining rooms. A three course luncheon was served from a long table on which covers were laid for Meedames T. W. Sherwood, E. J. Marks, of Fullerton; H. Tuffree and Normandy of Placeenta; J. Jansa, McClelland, Hoskins, W. M. Chambers, C. F. Grim, Percy Bradford, Miss Lillian Bennerscheidt, and the hostess, Mrs B. Lacy, Mrs Bradford assisted her mother with the entertaining. SPOOKY GUESTS ENTERTAINED One of the pretty Hallowe'en parties in which a large number of the social set participated, was given last night at the home of Miss Julia Goodrum on N. East St. Everything used in Hallowe'en suggestion was there and the guests were very cleverly adorned in various costumes of the season. Orange and black streamers were extended from the center of the ceiling to the corners of the room, while jet black cats and witches and other decorations graced the walls. Weird noises were heard during the evening, which came from the horns tooted by the ghosts. Games, suggestive of the holiday, were played, such as ducking for apples, eating doughnuts on a string and many guessing games. From a long decorated table, refreshments were served to the ghosts, witches, yama yama men and others. The list included Messrs and Mesdames Wadsworth, G. Mrs. Olmstead had taken particular palms in Al Fun decorations, using the seasonable trimming of yellow and brown with Halloween favors. Mrs. J. Selinger won the prize for the highest score, after which the ladies were served with an excellent luncheon of pumpkin pie, nuts, coffee, and other Halloween dishes. The nut holders were dalty Jack o'lanterns, and the centerpieces were arranged on appropriate dolls. Playing were the Mesdames Marsh, J. Hessel, E. Skinner, E. Hartung, C. Goff, W. Locke, C. AID SOCIETY TO BUY EUGS Meeting in an important session yesterday the ladies of the Presbyterian Aid society discussed the purchase of furnishings for the manse, now nearing completion. Different departments of the Sunday school will buy the furnishings for the pastor's home and the Aid society decided yesterday to purchase the living room rugs. The ladies class will purchase the draperies and other departments are contemplating buying several pieces of furniture. It is hoped the manse will be ready for occupancy before Thanksgiving. Mrs. F. S. Collins lead the devotions. The pastor, Rev. Walker gave an excellent talk, and plans for assisting in the convenience and entertaining the delegates to the Sunday School state convention Nov. 8, 9 and 10, were discussed. The hostesses for the afternoon were Mrs. W. B. Holland, Mrs. Hartranft, Mrs. Goble and Miss Crawford. A social hour followed the business meeting in which tea and cake were served. CONCERT FOR SUNDAY EVENING A program of unusual interest will be heard Sunday evening at 7:30, in the Evangelical church.
