SPORTING EVENTS
DUDLEY AND SOULES CLASH AT SPARKES'
Bud Salles and Young Dudley will settle their argument as to who is the better man in the main event at the weekly boxing show at Spark's flatte farm tonight. Salles and the colored flash have met twice before. Dudley winning the first by the K.O. route, and Salles boxing his way to a draw in the second event. However, Salles has been making rapid strides of late and won all but one of his starts since his last bout with Dudley. On the other hand, Dudley has slipped some in the last few weeks and a majority of the fans look for Salles to win. Whichever way it goes, however, there will probably be some hot sorrowing before it over.
George Glimore and Albert (Kid) Leo meet for the second time in the semi-windy, they having boxed a draw in the Ekke carnival several weeks ago. Both boys put up the star bout of the show on that occasion and should they repeat a good bout is assured.
Young Burton, who woo considerable popularity in his bout with Kid Loulie tumb week, meets a tough boy in the passion of Benny Heller. Heller has been going like a house afire and stopping his opponent in most of his late start. However, he is unlikely to stop the colored lad, who many believe will beat Heller.
The balance of the card reads: George Coffey vs. J.-Walloping Rufus Olhello Wilson; Battling Abe vs. Walter (Kid) Kohle.
AWAIT SPEED BOAT CLASH AT HARBOR
Racing enthusiasts of the Newport Harbor Yacht club are awaiting with interest the race to be staged Saturday between Dr. Albert Soiland's Viking IV and John Downey's Uneas. The race is one of the special features of the Caribbean day celebration being staged at San Pedro. The race will be from the Newport jetty around Bird Rock off Catalina Island and then touch the San Pedro breakwater. The boats will leave the Newport jetty at 10 a.m.
Sport Chatter
Jack Iman; Young Dudley, Jimmy Lloyd and George Glimore were introduced from the ring last night at the American Legion stadium as the line-up for one side of the card on next-week's show. A telegram was also read from Billy Conley challenging the winner of the Graham-Cline bout. Conley is now in San Diego and was scheduled to box there last Wednesday night. Opponents for the foregoing men have not been selected. With the four popular Anahiem boxers on the card, the show should draw a packed house.

AWAIT SPEED BOAT CLASH AT HARBOR
Racing enthusiasts of the Newport Harbor Yacht club are awaiting with interest the race to be staged Saturday between Dr. Albert Solland's Viking IV and John Bowen's Unces. The race is one of the special features of the Cabellio day celebration being staged at San Pedro. The race will be from the Newport jetty around Bird Rock off Catalina Island and thence to the San Pedro breakwater. The boats will leave the Newport jetty at 10 a.m.
All So. Calif. yacht clubs have been assigned a part in the Cabellio celebration. Saturday and Sunday will be devoted to boat racing of all kinds. The race between the Viking IV and the Unces is expected to be one of the most interesting exponents on the program. Both boats are members of the Newport harbor fleet and a large crowd is expected to witness the start of the race from the beach.
BALBOA SPEED BOAT READY FOR CONTEST
Hurricane JL. William Padens' new speed boat, constructed to enter the speed races at San Pedro in early November, has been completed and was given an initial trial Sunday. The craft, which is to be entered with Skipner Bills Cubbon at the helm is regarded as exceptionally speed. Balboa followers of the water racing game predict a brilliant future for it. The boat was constructed by the Newport Marine Harbor corporation, with the especial intention of entering it in the competition at San Pedro.
A Balboa craft has captured one annual race so far. In order to retain the cup which is offered, three annual races must be won.
If it's from Witman's it's good.
