NEWS OF FULLERTON FULLERTON YOUTH HELD FOR SMASHUP R. F. Posey, Fullerton youth, was held in the county jail today as the outcome of an automobile collision, the result of a supposed joyride, with the car of W. C. Wieland, 209 East First street, Santa Ana, the car driven by Posey adding embarrassing complications to his predicament, from the fact that it had been stolen, according to authorities, from George F. Taylor of Fullerton. Posey was one of a party of six in the alleged stolen car. Of the others, Tom Usery spent yesterday in the Community hospital recovering from injuries and Raymond Annon was also injured, but not severely. Usery sustained a badly sprained ankle and a hard shaking up. F. E. Davis, Willie Jones, Will Oglesby and Posey were unhurt. All reside in Fullerton, except Davis, whose home is in La Habra. Wieland, who was driving out of Santa Ana for an early duck hunt about 4 a.m., met the Fullerton party returning from Balboa where they had driven Taylor's Munroe car. The meeting took place at the junction of South Main street and Newport boulevard. Wieland steered far to the right, the two wheels on that side of his car going off the paving. Evidently, Wieland said, Posey did not even have room to pass. Possibly because of the fog or blinded by headlights, Posey drove against Wieland's car. Both cars were damaged in the collision. Posey was the only one of the Fullerton party held after the accident. It was stated at the sheriff's office today that a charge of automobile stealing would be filed against him. 1334 CHILDREN REGISTERED School registration week resulted in the securing of 1334 names at the two Fullerton grammar school buildings.
