SPORTING EVENTS
CHET NEFF POUNDS
GASTINE ALL OVER
Chat Neff Gammered Henry Gastine all around the ring for four founds, batting Gastine with everything but the water bucket, and carried away the decision in the main event of the premier show at the new boxing arena last night.
Gastine made several attempts to rally, but was unable to withstand the attacks of Neff. Although fast as greased lightning from bell to bell, the bout was considered tame from the start. We'll tell the world, though, that Gastine is a glutton for punishment.
Battling Frankie; of Vernon, and Louie Gonsalves, of Los Angeles, undoubtedly furnished the stellar attraction of the show, with Frankie taking the long end. Both boys are rugged mixers and have never learned to box, but when it comes to furnishing action they fill the bill.
Battling Frankie put over his left in the third round evidently hoping that it would end the battle, but the only result was a fractured thumb on his own hand. He lead Gonzales practically during the entire fight and was deserving of the decision.
Father Time George Mess tackled Jack Martin, the conqueror of Young Dudley, in the semi-windup, and although the old war horse is through as a boxer, he is still a good comedian and kept the crowd roaring with his ring antics. Martin can deliver a wicked wallop with either hand, but is exceptionally slow on his feet.
Young Frisco slugged his way to the decision over Leo Houck in the third bout on the program, while Joe Romeo received the medal from Al Thomas after four rounds of powder puff and dance stuff.
Jack Gordon won a technical knockout over Jack Rogers in the curtain raiser when the latter failed to respond to the hell in the third TWIN-MAIN EVENT AT SPARKES' TONITE
A double main event that looks like a barn full of action is promised the fans at Sparke's lastic ranch tonight on the regular weekly boxing card of the Anaheim Athletic club.
Johnny Meyer and Kid Mexico meet on one end of the stellar role, while Johnny McManus and Sailor Murphy tie up on the other.
Meyer will have a tough job on his hands in Kid Mexico, the latter having scored a clean victory over Bert Tribbey at Santa Ana, Wednesday night. Both boys hold decisions over Tribbey and some real action can be expected.
McManus win over tough little Ted Franchile at Vernon last Tuesday has shot his stock sky high and the little fellow is in strong demand in the Angel city. Murphy is a newcomer in these quarters but is said to have a record of a string of victories a mile long.
Ben Smith and Jack Iman meet in the semi-windup in a return match, the big fellows having battled to draw in the local plant two weeks ago. Some hot milling can be looked forward to.
The balance of the card reads: Jimmy Musso vs. Kid Leo; Lloyd Neal vs. Young Sheiler; and Kid Franklinie vs. Paul Romero.
Bill Darney will be the third man in the ring.
FULLERTON MEETS WHITTIER J. C. SAT.
The first game of the football season will be played by the Fullerton Junior College tomorrow at 2:30 o'clock against the Whittier J. C. team at Whittier. The quarters will be eight minutes each, the game being led by garret Briscoe and Agnes and the yells by Robert Stewart Gates. Miss I. Michael has been chosen as buildingf. Following from singing and yellin' the students once more their vocal chords.

THE OLD
Young Frisco slugged his way to the decision over Leo Houck in the third bout on the program, while Joe Romeo received the medal from Al Thomas after four rounds of powder puff and dance stuff.
Jack Gordon won a technical knockout over Jack Rogers in the curtain raiser when the latter failed to respond to the bell in the third round. The initial opening of the new club was marked by promptness in beginning, and by orderly manner in which the big crowd was handled.
The main event and the Frankie Gonzales argument was worth the price of admission and the fans were satisfied.
FULLERTON MEETS WHITTIER J. C. SAT.
The first game of the football season will be played by the Fullerton Junior College tomorrow at 2:30 o'clock against the Whittier J. C. team at Whittier. The quarters will be eight minutes each, the game being but a short practice game.
Milt Varner walked into Dugas & Mare's feeling pretty cocky last night. No one else being available to take the drives with him. Erale Dugas promptly knocked him off. If Dugas can do it, why most anybody—

HIGH SCHOOL ROOF RAISED AT RALLY
At a big rally this morning as a prelude to the football game with L. A. Polly this afternoon, the High school roof was almost raised off the buildingfng. Following a long rest from singing and yelling at rallies, the students once more exercised their vocal chords.
The songs were led by Misses Margaret Briscoe and Agnes Harkness, and the yells by Robert Lewis and Stewart Gates. Miss Marcia Carmichael has been chosen as piano player. The Blue and Gold was sung by the student body and faculty. Coach Youngman gave an interesting talk, urging everyone to attend the game at this the first game on the local grid, and the boys need support.

DOING THEIR DUTY
Scores of Anaheim Readers Are Learning the Duty of the Kidneys To filter the blood is the kidneys' duty.
When they fail to do this the kidneys are weak.
Backache and other kidney illies may follow.
Help the kidneys do their work.
Use Doan's Kidney. Pills — the tested kidney remedy.
Proof of their worth in the following:
Mrs. Mae Stone, 238 Whiting Ave., Fullerton, Cal., says: "My kidneys were weak and I felt dull and languid. Frequent headaches and dizzy spells made me miserable and my back was weak and lame often ached. I tired easily and had no energy. One of the family advised Doan's Kidney Pills and they soon restored my energy, the backache left and I was free from headaches and dizziness."
