SANTA CRUZ PLANS FOR ELKS' COMING
SANTA CRUZ, Sept. 16.—Realizing full well that we are living in a dancing age, Santa Cruz, which entertains the State Elks Association delegates with their families and friends on October 6-7-8, has prepared a practically continuous succession of dancing parties at night while the Convention is in session.
It is expected that the beautiful ball room of the Santa Cruz Elks Lodge, rated as one of the finest in the State, will see its largest crowds during the October Association. Informal dancing will be held there every night for the three days' Convention. The same will apply at the beautiful Casino ball room on the Beach front, the formal Grand Occurring the night of Friday, October 7th.
Music of a high order has been engaged for the pleasure of these Elk parties, and it is expected that Santa Cruz never will have known such a feast of dancing as has been planned for the Elk gathering.
Active efforts are being made to have the U.S. Super Dreadnaught "California" anchored in Santa Cruz harbor during its Convention. This biggest of Uncle Sam's sea fighters will prove to be a wonderful attraction itself and will help greatly in the entertainment of the delegates if the efforts of the local Committee to obtain the big boat are successful.
