ANAHEIM IS MECON
EVERYTHING READY FOR GREAT PARADE
"And still they come, they come."
Pro mthe north and the east and the south and the west the people are expected to crowd into Anaheim Monday for the big labor day celebration which is being put on at Columbia park on W. Broadway by the Central Labor Union and the Building Trades Council of Orange-co., assisted by the business men of the county who have also gotten "their shoulder to the wheel" to make it the biggest event of its kind ever held in Orange-co.
C. Concle, local labor man, has been "working like a Turk" to get the program for the day all arranged, and he has been ably assisted by other labor men, and the general labor day committee, as well as receiving much encouragement from business men, city officials and others with whom he came in contact. Mr. Concle's job was no child's play but he announced that "all things are now ready."
The ball will start rolling at 10 o'clock Monday morning when the labor men and their concomitants, the business men, and city officials will stage a grand parade thru the business section of Anaheim with decorated autos, bands, floats and martial music. Many of the business houses are also expected to be decorated appropriately for the occasion. A $50 cash prize will be given for the best band of the day.
Following the parade, everyone is invited to go down W. Broadway to Columbia park where the remaining feats of the day will be celebrated. Judge Howard will deliver the address of welcome on behalf of Anaheim immediately following the parade, and there will be a large number of other addresses by prominent men, including Judge Thomas of Santa Ana, Judge Cox, of Santa Ana.
others prominent in business and organized labor.
At 12:30 o'clock Rev. E. J. Stainom of Fullerton will speak.
At 1:30 there will be a contest of the drill teams of the fraternal orders, a $50 cash prize to be given for the best drill team. At 2 o'clock there will be a fat man's race, followed by a lean men's race at 2:30 o'clock. There will also be a ladies' race and a potato race at 3 o'clock, followed by a cracker contest for boys from 10 to 15 years of age, and a sack race. At 3:30 there will be a bargain counter contest, followed by a ladies' nail driving contest, and a men's nail driving contest, and a men's sawing contest. The ladies will engage in a ball throwing contest at 4 o'clock, after which there will be a boys' 100-yard dash for boys between 12 and 20-years of age, a boys' 100-yard dash for boys between eight and 12 years of age, and a boys' 100-foot dash for boys from one to eight lears of age. The girls will enter similar contests at 4:30, girls from 12 to 20 years of age engaging in a 100-yard dash, girls from nine to 12 years of age, and girls from one to nine years of age in a 100-foot dash.
The grand contest will be staged at 5 o'clock when there will be a tug-of-war between picked teams from the Central Labor Council and Building Trades Council of Orange-co. At 9 o'clock in the evening there will be a grand display of pyrotechnics by aeroplane.
There will be excellent prizes for the winners in all the contests. The judges of all the contests of the day are: Judge Cox of Santa Ana, Judge Sayles of Brea and E. J. Marks of Fullerton.
The dance starts at 2 o'clock in the afternoon, and there will be an aeroplane carrying passengers from the grounds all day, with bands playing, concessions, choir playing "n everything."

Is the choice of labor
The Hupmobile Is the choice of labor
In honoring those that toil we want to thank them for the hearty recommendations which they have given the HUPMOBILE as it has faithfully aided in their duties.
Whether in oil fields, in the field or on the boulevard, its work has been consistent with labor's progress.
They pay less for gasoline and oil and tires They pay less for repairs. They enjoy more continuous and more consistent service from their cars.
These advantages go straight back to the fine engineering and to the special process and special materials, which make the Hupmobile the wonderful car it is.
They are the heart and soul of the contentment which is so typical of Hupmobile owners.
At its new price the Hupmobile is the best buy on the market. There are purchasers waiting to take delivery of these cars as soon as they are received.
