Friday, September 2, 1921 City Briefs Mr. and Mrs. A. Bayliss have returned from a week's vacation at Seal Beach. Mr. and Mrs. W. F. VanMeter and son, W. A. Friend, have returned to their home at Phoneix where Mr. Van Meter is special agent for the New York Life Ins. Co., after spending a month here. They liked Anaheim so well that they plan to sell out business interests there and return here to make their home. Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Cole are passing the week at Seal Beach, having taken a cottage there. Mrs. George Cole has returned from San Diego where she was called to assist in the care of her mother, who was suffering from a nervous breakdown. The mother has many friends in the vicinity of Buena Park who will be pleased to hear that she is recuperating. Mr. and Mrs. Holly Seymour are parents of a daughter born Monday at Anaheim hospital. Mr. Seymour had placed his order for a son, but he now says that girls are lots nicer than boys. Mrs. R. C. Davis passed Wednesday in Santa Ana. Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Brown and daughter, Miss Clara Brown, of San Francisco-bldd, Orange, were visitors in Anaheim Thursday. George Ross went to Los Angeles and Pasadena Thursday. Fred Minyard, Walter Heftshusen and Ray Lazzaroni went dove hunting yesterday. Little Ruth Caroline Davis, who was taken suddenly ill a few days ago, is recovering. Mrs. Sylvia Johnson and Mrs. Edward Bigelow were dinner guests of Mrs. William A. Brown Wednesday evening. Miss Priscilla Mathis is the guest of Miss Anna Marie McDuell at her home near Brookhurst. Mr. and Mrs. John Paul Taggart are guests at Hotel Del Mar, Long Beach this week. N. B. Nelson auditor for the Sperry Flour Co., was the guest Wednesday of his friends, Mr. and Mrs. L. P. Bonnat, at dinner at the Oyster Loaf. Yesterday from Sioux City, Iowa, where they have been visiting relatives for two months. Mrs. John Taggart and Mrs W. A. Brown were luncheon guests Wednesday of Mrs. Frank Taggart, on N. Whiting-ave, Fullerton. Mrs. Frank Matton and little daughter, Betty, arrived Thursday to visit with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. R. W.
