MISCELLANEOUS SHOWER Miss Marion Quarrie, a bride to be, was again an honoree, this time at a miscellaneous shower given last night by Miss Philura Sparkes at the spacious home on Sugar avenue. Miss Quarrie and her mother were invited to spend the evening at the Sparkes home. Miss Sparkes volunteering to call for them. Before their arrival the guests had assembled and were ready with hearty greetings of surprise. The rooms were daintily decorated in pink and white, crepe paper ropes and pink flowers giving the color motif. The young ladies were supplied with tiny canoes, attached to which was a pink ribbon tied to pink thimbles. They used the thimbles in the pleasant task of hemming tea towels for use in the bride's new home. In the canoes were tiny notes bearing the title of a song. The guests formed trios and rendered more of less harmony as they sang these songs. Another amusing pastime was hearing Miss Quarrie read the many letters of advice with which her friends had furnished her. A two course luncheon was served from a beautifully laid table. Centered with a tall cluster of gladiolas and festooned with the paper ropes, the effect was charming.
