MUST HAVE CHRIST'S MIND, SAYS BLAKELEY
"For who hath known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct him. But we have the mind of Christ," from the third chapter of 1 Corr was the subject of Rev.Jesse N.Blakely, pastor of the Church of the Lord.at the Holiness Mission in Placentia yesterday morning.
"The animal man or the carnal mind cannot communicate that heavenly wisdom with which he is unacquainted," said Rev.Blaakeley."It is foolishness to him, because it is spiritual and he is carnal. He is of this world, therefore he sees the things of this world, but the things of God are hidden from him.Neither can he understand them, because they are spiritually discerned. But Paul says,Howbelt,we speak wisdom among them that are perfect because they have spiritual discernment. The world has not this wisdom.Neither can it know it.但we have the mind of Christ.
Rev.Blaakeley preached in the afternoon at his residence,511 N.Olive-st.on "Go ye into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature, and he that believeth and is baptised shall be saved and he that believeth not shall be damned.
Rev.Messenger preached at the evening service in Placentia on"We live by faith and not by sight."
