BEAUTIFUL HOME
WEDDING AT GROVE
GARDEN GROVE, July 23.—A beautiful home wedding was solemnized Wednesday evening when Miss Frances Hughes Walz became the bride of Lynn Root Pollins at the home of the bride's parents on Cypress-ave. The Rev. Mr. Harkness officiated, using the ring service.
Promptly at eight o'clock, Mrs. Irvine German sang "Oh Promise Me," accompanied by Mr. German on the violin, immediately after which the bridal party took their places beneath a natural bower of woodbine, to the strains of Lohengrin's "Bridal Chorus," rendered by Mr. German.
The bride was beautifully gowned in silk crepe meteor, hand embroidered and beaded in opalescent beads. Her veil was tastefully caught in place with orange blossoms and she carried a shower bouquet of bride's roses and maldenhair fern.
Miss Edith McConnell, in blue silk crepe, attended the bride, while Malcolm Wharton supported the groom.
Miss Vivian Ludt, small niece of the bride, dressed in dalty pink organdle strewed roses in the bridges pathway.
About 50 relatives and intimate friends witnessed the ceremony, which took place on the Japanese lantern lighted lawn. Refreshments were served during the evening.
Out-of-town guests included Estes Waltz and Mrs. Irene Ludt and children, of Los Angeles, cousins of the bride; Mr. and Mrs. J. Calvyn Armstrong, brother-in-law and sister of the groom; and their small son, Trenton, of Anaheim; Mrs. G. Root and Mrs. Dora Smith and daughter, Betty, grandmother and aunt of the groom, respectively; Mr. and Mrs. William Rohrbacker and daughter, Doris, and Mr. and Mrs. E. L. Morrison, all of Santa Ana.
Mr. and Mrs. Pollins left mid a shower of rice and good wishes for a honorsmoon at Little Bear lake. They will be at home to their friends after August 1 at their ranch home in Garden Grove.
West Coast Lease
WEST COAST, July 23. (SpL.)—Mrs. Raymand entertained with an ice cream and cake social last Sunday. Several of her neighbors were present.

Mr. and Mrs. George Swarts, two small daughters, Eva and Patricia, Mrs. Raymond and daughter, Evelyn, and John Swartz enjoyed a welter bake Thursday evening at Seal Beach.
O. F. Reed and daughter, Edith and son, Harold, from Bakersfield have been visiting at the Warner home for the last week.
The little baby son of Mr. and Mrs. Foster is reported much improved from a bad burned received a few days ago.
Master Russell Luckenbach of 25 Sunshine-ave, spent Thursday night with his father, at McClyty.
Edward Heffner has been with his friend, Willard Wilson, in Fullerton, the last few days.
William Cameron returned home Thursday from Denver, Colo., where he has been attending a conference for the local union.
H. C. Herman and wife motored down from Portland, Ore. to visit P. L. Warner and family for a week or two.
Next Saturday, P. L. Warner, wife and two daughters, Gladys and Edith, and four sons, Elmer, Orville, Herald and Oliver will motor to San Francisco and visit Leo Warner and family for a couple of days and then will go to Chico, to visit Mother and Father Warner for a couple of weeks after which they will return to their home up Carbon canyon.
J. S. Stewart residing at Newport formerly of Olinda passed away last Wednesday. The funeral takes place in Santa Ana at 10 o'clock Friday morning. He leaves one daughter Elma, to mourn his loss.
Mrs. K. Muzzall, who has been with her sick mother in Oklahoma for the last month returned home Wednesday, bringing her mother and another lady with her.
Mr. Bruce Merrill, wife and little son are off for a two weeks vacation.
Last Thursday Mr. Grable on returning home from his ranch at Pomona, burned out a bearing and telephoned in for help. Mr. Bergenhage with his daughter, Ruth Hurd and Dale Grablie rushed to rescue immediately. Later they had an accident in which Ruth Hurd and Dale Grablie were thrown from the machine Ruth's right arm was broken and the boy bruised a little. The men escaped uninjured.

Miss Urula Keen spent the weekend with Opal Gimpse in Berna, on Walnut-st.

Mr. and Mrs. James Tunla are entertaining their relatives and motoring over the county to show them the places of interest the different beaches, etc.

BREA PAIR STEAL MARCH ON FRIENDS
BREA, July 22. (Spl.)—A popular young couple of Brea stole a marche on their friends last Saturday and slipped over to Santa Ana and decided to try wedded life. The couple were Arthur Carroll and Sletta Swoop of Walnut-st. Brea. There many friends wish them much happiness and success in the future. They will reside in Anaheim.
Mrs. Opal Wimpse was a Los Angeles visitor Monday.

Raymond Swoop, son of W. H. Swoop, of S.Walnut-st., with several other young men of Brea anticipates a week's trip to Big Bear lake, next week.
W. H. Swoop returned Thursday from Denver, Colo., where he was a delegate for the Brea local.
Mr. Monte Fiscan was elected temporarily in the late Mr. Adkins' place as secretary of the chamber of commerce.
