FLAYS MEAT EATER'S AND MILK DRINKERS
Pter Cassidy of Clutchmatt, OH spoke last night at the Spiritualist meeting at the Labor Temple on N. Los Angeles-st. and will speak there again at S o'clock Sunday evening. He is a close-to-nature man, styling himself as a "truth seeker," wears long hair like a woman, goes barefooted, and eats nothing but vegetables. He said it is a crime to kill an animal, and that "a fellow who drinks milk hasn't sense enough to be ashamed of himself." Man was made the master of animals, and therefore should treat them with all respect and kindness. There are two kinds of animals, the beast or herbivorous animal, and the brute or carnivorous animal. Man is aligning himself alongside the brute by eating meats which is something he should not do," he declared.
He said that he uses neither milk, butter, eggs, cheese or the flesh of any animal. "Milk is for babies who are not weaned, and one creature should not eat the milk of 'another creature,'" he said. "Eggs were created for but one purpose, the hatching of another chicken. Cheese is so full of germs that if they were all to walk the same way at the same time the cheese would walk right off the table," he affirmed.
He declared that no one has a right to kill an animal except the Creator. He compared buttermilk with a rotten egg, saying that it is merely rotten milk. He said that if man would get back to herbivorous "cats" and live the right kind of life, this would be a different world.
He declared there are two departments in the world, the department of nature and order which was created, and the department of art and invention, made by the hand of man. The first is like unto gold, while the last is like unto silver, he said. Man has the values reversed and that's where the trouble lies, he affirmed.
