WELLS Placentia-Richfield As an example of how the luck runs and what the oil man has to contend with attention is called to Amalgamated's field report for the week. Five wells are under way, and fishing jobs are holding up four of them. Breen No. 2-A is fishing at 2170, Bayha No. 1 at 1500, Page No. 1 at 3465 and Mann No. 1 at 3268. Polter No. 2 is drilling in the oil sand at 3495 and looks like the Amalgamated's best bet. The Clark Oil Co.'s Wetzell No. 1 drilling at 3365 is showing some oil in the shale. About a year ago the well was drilled to 4118 and showed very little indications. It appears that the rotary might have passed up something in the original drilling. The Dependable Oil Trust is making preparations to replace its cable tool outfit with an up to date rotary. There is a possibility that the well will be drilled by contract. The Fullerton Oil Co.'s Anaheim Union No. 1 is taking on some of the appearances of a gusher. New hole is now being made in the sandy shale at 4575, the gas pressure has so greatly increased at this depth some difficulty is being experienced in holding the well down. Every indication now points to a Kragmer gusher for the Fullerton Oil Co. at Anaheim Union No. 1. It will probably be the biggest deep producer in the Richfield district. Supt. Daily is watching it close. The General Petroleum has a record number of wells standing cemented. Davis No. 1 stands at 3247, Group 2-1 at 4088, Group 3-2 at 3275, Hugo No. 2 and Stein No. 1 at 3244, Hugo No. 3 is drilling at 1400 in the conglomerate. Stern No. 3, a 540 barrel producer is showing almost a third wetter and preparations are being made to back on the well. Thompson No. 1 is being re-drilled in the hope of making a better well out of it, the redrilling now being at 3055. Yorba No. 1 is showing some 60 per cent emulsion. The Increased Here House Dresses—Every Style For Every Hour of a Busy Day $1.98 House dresses with deep hems, ample skirt width and the right length sleeve. Thompson No. 1 is being re-drilled in the hope of making a better well out of it, the redrilling now being at 3055, Yorba No. 1 is showing some 60 per cent emulsion. The G. P.'s banner well is Stern No. 4, a 900 bbl well producing oil that is less than 1 per cent foreign matter. Failing to get a complete shut off on what was believed to be intermediate water the Placentia Pacific has re-cemented its well. The cementing was done on bottom and will test conclusively the source of the water. The Petroleum Development Co. has developed three producing wells on the Bradford property at Richfield. Bradford No. 1 drilled to 4117 feet is making 240 barrels. Bradford No. 5 the deep test well of the lease is down 4265 and flowing 125 barrels. Bradford No. 2 is being rigged up to proceed with the rotary at 3365. Bradford No. 4 stands cemented at 2010. Bradford Community No. 1 at 4550 is in shell and shows one faint oil indications. Richfield No. is drilling in grey sand at 2200 and Richfield No. 2 is a new well building rig. On the Yarnell property the Petroleum Midway has No. 14 drilling in the oil sand at 3245, the well looking exceptionally good. No. 9 is standing with the cement setting at 2985, Carter No. 1 also stands cemented at 3806, Isaacs No. 2 is now drilling, having been spudded in a few days ago, Krug No. 1 is drilling on iron at 2385, Krug No. 3 is drilling in the oil sand at 2900 and Krug No. 5 is making hole at 1600. The Petroleum Midway redrilled and cleaned out Richfield Consolidated No. 2 and made a 500 barrel well out of it. Considering the condition this 2900 foot well was in the work is worthy of some mention. Consolidated No. 1 is deepening at 2975, and No. 3 is drilling at 2400. No. 4 is a rig completed. On drilling out the cement and making a water test the Richfield Giant found that its 4210 foot well contained a little water. It will be only a matter of a few days until the water is located and cemented off. Richfield Giant officials do not believe the delay will amount to very much. The well has been showing very good. Failure to get a water shut off at the Richfield Union Petroleum Co's No. 1 resulted in a second cementing late last week. The cement is now setting at $200. The well has shown up in an encouraging manner and a well seems almost assured now. The Richfield United Oil Co's No. 1 drilled to 3240 feet and completed Blouses $3.49 Large assortment of garments of targette and Crepe Chine. Failure to get a water shut off at the Richfield Union Petroleum Co.'s No. 1 resulted in a second cementing late last week. The cement is now setting at $200. The well has shown up in an encouraging manner and a well seems almost assured now. The Richfield United Oil Co.'s No. 1 drilled to 3240 feet and completed about three weeks ago has settled down to a 200 bbl. well. The production is running 20 gravity and is cutting 15-100ths of one per cent making it rank with the cleanest wells in the field. Preparations are being made to start a second well. The Richfield Yorba No. 1 is now at 3365 in a formation that is alternating sandy shale and oil sand. Two hundred feet more hole will undoubtedly assure the bringing in of a commercial producer. The Selby-Root-Hogue Oil Co. is busy at Richfield. The company has two wells drilling and a rig building for a third well. Wardman-Claxton No. 2 is now at 1500 in hard sand. No. 4 shows 1400 in the same formation. No. 6 is building rig and a location has been made for No. 2. The Standard Oil Co. has Lofthus-O'Bryan No. 1 standing cemented at 5097 feet. Velar No. 1 is drilling at 5074 and is showing but little indications of oil. On the Kraemer No. 2 lease No. 13 at 1100 looks like the next gusher. No. 2-14 shows 2800 feet of holes and No. 16 is drilling at 1500. Kellogg No. 2 shows 2000 ft. of hole. The Wonder Co., Ltd, continues its record breaking drilling at the Kraemer Home Place No. 2. Last week's work shows 700 feet drilled. It is understood that the Reed Roller blu is responsible for the fast time that is being made. No. 1 still stands at 1200 barrels and is making a record also for consistent production. The Hudsted Oil Co., has completed on the Carpenter property a rig for No. 2. No. 1 is being redrilled and deepened. It was originally drilled to 3423, came in a 280 barrel well but did not stand up. Pueblo is rising from its ruins with at least 60 lbs of coal. This only way to kill an American city is to kill its spirit, and this spirit is proof against killing—so there you are!
