NEWS OF FULLERTON
SCHOOL FAIR WILL OPEN NEW BLDG.
The new Fullerton high school building containing the cafeteria, the home economics and the art departments is to be opened on Saturday, May 25, for the school fair. The second annual exhibit of work done in all the grammar schools of the district is to be held at that time. Ing addition to the cooking and sewing done by students of the grammar schools, the high school will have a large display in both of these lines.
Visitors will be conducted by students and teachers, or allowed to wander at will through the many rooms of this splendid new structure. Because it will be open to the public for the first time, the high school expects numerous patrons of all the schools on that day. On entering the building, visitors will find the cooking and sewing rooms on the first floor, and a broad stairway leading to the art department. To the right are two beautiful kitchen laboratories with white tile floors and tables, each thoroughly equipped with cabinets, sink, stove and pantries. One interesting feature is the division of the noisy cooking room into nine little kitchenettes, giving each girl a chance to work under an arrangement as neatly homelike as the school can provide. There will be spread upon the tables of these rooms the most tempting edibles, breads, plates, salads and luscious cake. Exhibits of cooking are expected from Brenn, La Habra, Olinda, Yorba Linda and Fullerton grammar schools.
To the left of the entrance of the new building are the three sewing extended largely for teaching millinery. Every grammar school in the district is to hang same beautiful articles of clothing, both machine and hand work, on these walls. The work of each school and each student is found. As the judges will not be local people, there will be no reason for concealing names. Ribbons denoting first, second and third prizes will be awarded pupils of each grade. Ribbons will also be awarded students of the high school class who display the best work.
The school fair was a great success last year. Many patrons express surprise at well as售售 students. There is to be as well year, and also building which handsome, and years from now kindergarten en.
