DIST. P.-T. A. BOARD MEETS
The district executive board meeting of the Congress of Mothers and P.-T. A. was held Saturday afternoon at the Premont school, with Mrs. Earl Morse, of Santa Ana, presiding.
There was a small attendance, owing to the rainy weather, but several matters of business were transacted. Plans were made for the all-day meeting to be held at La Habra April 9th. An invitation was extended to the state executive board to hold their meeting in Santa Ana on April 16th.
The next meeting place will be announced later. Adjournment was made, after which the ladies spent a short time in visiting.
JOLLY "13" WEEK-END PARTY
Mr. and Mrs. W. S. Pomeroy, 1004 E. Center-st, were host and hostess to a number of guests, all of whom except the children of the families, have claimed East Auroro. N. Y. as "home." Another interesting fact is that the date was the thirteenth of the month and there were 13 present to enjoy the day's festivities. Also six members of the company were former schoolmates.
An excellent three-course dinner menu was served by the hostess at one o'clock. The table had been prettily decorated with a centerpiece of sweet pens. The afternoon was most pleasantly spent in talking over old times and happenings of other days.
Those who were present at this pleasant affair were: Mr. and Mrs. E. Chamberlain of Norwalk, Mr. and Mrs. H. Havens and son, Lewis, of Ventura; Mr. B. Butlin of East Aurora, N. Y.; Mr. and Mrs. L.S. Pomeroy and two sons, Wray and Leason, Jr.; Mrs. Alfred Palmer and Mr. and Mrs. W.S. Pomeroy.
JOLLY GATHERING SUNDAY
A jolly gathering was held yesterday afternoon and evening at the home of Miss Philura Sparkes, south-west of Anaheim. The young ladies in the party were mostly members of the Bankerettes Club, who with their escorts had planned a day's outing at one of the beaches, but owing to the storm, this was called off. However, they gathered at the Sparkes home, where equally as good a time was spent with games, music and a general social time which was followed by a delicious picnic supper which had been brot by the merry-makers.
Those making up the party were Misses Wilhelmina Zitzmann, Myrtle Owen, Hazel Rainey, Marion Quarrie, Helen Beamer, Marjorie Rains, Philura and Callye Sparkes, Messrs Lawrence Muckenthaler, Peter Palm, Oscar Hansen, Evan Miller, James Sparkes, Jack Clemmens of Los Angeles.
