CELEBRATES CLUB'S 32ND BIRTHDAY
LUENA PARK, March 11—Special—A birthday party was held on Wednesday evening at the school hall in honor of the 32nd birthday of the Women's club. It was in the form of a children's party and the members and their husbands all came dressed as little children. There were some very sweet little girls and babies and the boys in their romper suits looked quite cunning. All the children joined in the games of drop the handkerchief, checker board, musical chair and various others. All day suckers and lemon sticks were enjoyed by the little folks. At a late hour all were seated and a hugh birthday cake with 32 candles was carved in it and a very pleasing toast given by Flossie Smithers. The cake was baked by Mrs. Blixy, who was one of the oldest members of the club. The cake was cut and all the kiddies enjoyed it along with huge dishes of ice cream and other homemade cakes. All returned to their homes at a late hour and hoped for another good time soon.
Mrs. R. Z. Adams and son, Bobby, of Los Angeles; Mrs. Ella R. Adams of Georgetown, Cool., and Miss Ethel Robeson, of Alhambra, spent Thursday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. L. J. Robeson.
The third card party of a series given by the Woman's club will be held on Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the home of Mrs. Henry Warren with Mrs. Warren and Mrs. R. D. McDowell as hostesses.
The Masonic club of Orange-co will give a dinner to all Masons and their wives at the Masonic temple at Pullerton at 6:30 p.m., March 23. Tickets $1.00 per plate. Following the banquet there will be a lecture on "Masonry in Action," by the Hon. Frank G. Tyrrell, of Los Angeles. Mr. Tyrrell is a lecturer of national reputation and is said to possess a vocabulary and a wealth of ideas second to none in the state. This promises to be a rare treat.
