George Dunton and wife, Paul Tagart and wife, A. H. Ahlswede and wife, and H. M. Adama attended the Kiwanis club meeting at Santa Ana last night. A great time was reported, the club receiving its charter.
Mrs. Sarah J. Faz, who has been quite seriously ill for the past month at her home, 1136 W. Broadway, is recovering slowly. Her many friends hope the recovery will steadily continue and that she will soon be in her usual good health.
Howard D. Raymond, treasurer of the Raymond Concrete Blue Co., of Chicago, and Mrs. Raymond have returned home after a short visit with Mr. Raymond's brother-in-law, J. F. Ahlborn, postmaster, and mother, Mrs. L. A. Raymond, of Los Angeles.
Word has been received recently by Anaheim friends from Mrs. ahC洛tte Koster, who will be remembered by the older residents here as Mrs.Charlotte Banks. She is now with friends at Santa Cruz, Tenerife,Canary Islands.Mr.Koster died last August.
Mr.Kascherer, formerly of South Dakota, but more recently of Kansas, called on W.A.Ross, an old friend, whom he had not seen in 20 years this week.He stated that he had never been to Calif., before but likes it so well he may go back,selt out and move out here.
Mrs.W.J.Houts.ofSanBernardinowill arrive tomorrow to visit in the home of her sister,Mrs.Wm.Houts.On Saturday Mr.mrs.Houts,Miss Pauline and Mrs.John Cook will spend the day in Los Angeles and on Sunday the party will attend the orange show in San Bernardino.

YORBA LINDA,Feb. 24—Special—Miss Anne Marie Cole delightfully entertained ten ladies at luncheon on Saturday.The invitations merely said that a car would call at 11:45 and the ladies did not know where they were whose honor the party was given.Several machine loads of C.E.members motored to Pomona via Brea canyon last Tuesday evening to hear one of the greatest evangelists of the world.Charles Reign Scoville,who is holding a revival,Mrs.Scoville is a wonderful vocalist.Mr和Mrs.Geo.Hennigan motored to Los Angeles Monday.Mrs.W.H swope and Mrs.C.C.Jarvis joined them,making a happy crowd.The latter ladies attended the Lady Maccaes 'association in So.Spring-set.
The Macenbee ladies meet tonight for their regular monthly meeting at the Seewell hall,a "500" party being in order.

Miss Cole had a room reserved at the St. James at Santa Ana, which was decorated with various George Washington motifs. Favors of caps, artificial cherries, and, of course, a hatchet, cleverly carried out the idea. A four course lunchon was served to the following guests: Mrs. Dooll, Mrs. E. Walker, Mrs. Frank Gauldin, Mrs. M. A. Bridge, Mrs. Ada S. Lynn, Mrs. Lupton, Mrs. G. W. Kinsman, Angle L. Bosworth, Mrs. Chas Payne and Mrs. Hurley.
Mr. and Mrs. Ganes motored to the orange show Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Cochrann and Mr. and Mrs. Grover Beale enjoyed an outing at Glen Ivy Sunday.

Mr. Harold Marsh is recovering nicely from injuries received a few days ago, when his tractor pinned him against the plow. He had cranked it while it was in gear and while his injuries are painful, they might have been a great deal more serious.

Mr. and Mrs. Curtis Morris entertained the "Get Busy" class of the Friends' church Thursday evening.
There are evangelistic meetings being held every night this week at the Friends' church under the able leadership of Millie M. Lawhead, assisted by M. Elsie Shaner, song leader, and Prof. Ward Avery, at the piano. They have come direct from Oklahoma where they finished a successful campaign and they are arousing much interest here.
Mr. and Mrs. Delbert Cox, of Torrance, were week-end guests at the E.A.Walker home.
The Methodist congregation enjoyed their first sermon in their new church on Sunday morning. There was the largest attendance at Sunday school, which they have had so far; there being more than seventy present.
Rev Seanchrist felt so encouraged that it all enjoyed the refreshments the guests had brought with them.Besides the relatives Rev George A.Francis and wife of Orange were present.

OBITUARY
Joseph Porter Moody, resident of Orange-co for 24 years,died at the county hospital Feb. 14th,after a long and painful illness.He was buried in Anahelm cemetery Feb.
17th.
Mr.Moody was born Nov 20,1848.In Cartingia.Ohio,and came to California with his parents in 1852.residing in Sacramento.Sutter and Nevada-cos.for many years he resided in San Luis Obispo where he was a wheat farmer.
He helped to build the old adobe church east of Paso Robles,and later hauled lumber 40 miles to build a church and school house at Estrelle.
Mr.Moody was married in 1880 to Miss Martha McClara.of New York state,the died in 1891.He was the father of ten children.Mr.Moody was married the second time to Miss Lizzie Alderman of Grass Valley in 1892.Later they moved to their present home at Moody Station,near CyPRESS,where they farmed and raised

BREA, Feb. 25.—Special.—The Geo. Washington party at Mr. and Mrs. Gurley's was very unique and every one had a grand time. George and Martha met the guests at the door with a smile. Music and games were indulged in until a late hour. Old familiar songs were enjoyed. Miss Bradshaw gave several solos. Mrs. James Reynolds sang two vocal solos. Then Miss Bradshaw favored the guests with two numbers. Some very interesting heirlooms were shown and the history given by those who brought them. The principal game of the evening was "Rook." First gentleman's prize was carried away by Mr. Geo.' Hennigan and ladies' prize was won by "the teacher staying at the Gurley home." While refreshments were being served consisting of plum pudding with white sauce and cherry, Mrs. Watson entertained with the latest music. The decorations were beautiful and symbolic of the day. Little cherry bouquets were given as souvenirs. The guests present were: Mr. and Mrs. Jay Sexton, Mr. and Mrs. Culp, Mr. and Mrs. Abe Yost, Dr. C.C. and Mrs. Jarvis, Dr. and Mrs. Davis, Brea druggist and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Geo.
