"OUTSIDE THE LAW"
COMING TO FAIRYLAND
Priscilla Dean
in OUTSIDE THE LAW
A UNIVERSAL JEWEL PICTURE
Once every five years there comes a great crook drama.
In 1900 there was "Jim the Penman."
In 1915 there was "Leah Kelschna."
In 1910 there was "Alias Jimmy Valentine."
In 1915 there was "Within the Law."
Now in 1920 comes Tod Browning with "Outside the Law," an underworld epic, starring Priscilla Dean and in which appear Lon Chaney, E. A. Warren, Ralph Lewis, Wheeler Oakman, Melbourne MacDowell and Wilton Taylor. Whether this will be another classic of crookdom of course cannot safely be predicted. But the favored few who have already viewed this Universal-Jewel feature film pronounce it a smashing human drama, flavored with a romance of the underworld and the mystery of a terrific oriental justice.
Annaheim screen-goers will have opportunity to form their own opinion of "Outside the Law" when they arrive at Anaheim visitors Friday afternoon.
Mr. Hardy Cariker, wife and daughter Sylvia from Fullerton spent the evening with Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Robertson last Wednesday.
Mrs. Henry Luckenbach who has been in Pittsburg, Pa., for several months, returned to her home last Sunday. She left her mother very much improved. Her family was not expecting her so soon, so the young folks decided to go to Camp Balady and revel in the snow for a change. Mrs. Luckenbach's many friends are glad to welcome her home again.
Mrs. Frank Boulger has been ill for several days with tonsillitis. She is very much better now.
Mrs. Clderwood from El Modena and Mr. and Mrs. Abernathy from Brea were Tuesday callers at the home of Mrs. Wm. Phillips.
Rev. James Elliott and wife from San Diego and Mr. and Mrs. Mose Merriani from Placentia were visiting friends on West Coast last Monday.
Miss Adeline Hamilton and Mr. Harry Minnor of Olinda attended the Brea dance Friday evening.
Mr. and Mrs. Lou Edmund and daughter Louise visited his mother Mrs. Edmund of Placentia last Thursday evening.
Mr. Holly Schumacher, wife and son Walter and Mr. G. L. Swartz, wife, and two small daughters were at Huntington Beach last Thursday night. They brought several large star fish home.
Mr. C. H. Grower and daughter, Mrs. Agnes Robertson, motored to Placentia last Wednesday evening to visit Mr. and Mrs. H. A. Fox. Mr. Gower's daughter.
Mrs. Lou Edmunds and her little daughter Louise were visitors at Olinda Thursday afternoon at the home of Mrs. John Richardson.
Mrs. Adeline Hamilton of Los Angeles is visiting at the home of her sisters, Mrs. James E. Robertson. She will remain out here for several weeks. She is hungry for good home cooking again. Oh, say, but you just ought to eat some of her good pies. I can speak from experience as I had the experience of eating some.
Oh Say, "Just listen to this." You know it takes more than one to make a crowd. Sometimes folks middle-aged feel as young as chickens. Daddy Gower entertained at Columbia Boarding house Friday: Mrs. Tipton, Mrs. Lewis and Mrs. Birdle caught his wing on the fly and says, Come on Daddy, let's have a piece of Pumpkin Pie, what you say?
Last Wednesday Mrs. Jack Goulding was a Placentia visitor on business.
Mr. and Mrs. William Thomas and son Bobble were Anaheim visitors last Wednesday.
Last Tuesday evening will be long remembered by those present at the Taffy pulling, given at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Phillips, at West Coast. Those present were all the Olinda teachers besides the family, Mrs. Cooper, Mr. and Mrs. Johannesen, Mrs. Doss, Miss Carroll, Miss Casey, Miss Bryant, Miss Taylor and Miss Stahlke.

About the Family Washing
What a Cost System Revealed About the Family Washing
A business woman, who had made a study of costs, applied cost system to her own home and it revealed some startling facts.
For instance, she found that her family washing was costing her much more than she ever dreamed.
The laundress’s wages were 50; her carfare, 15 cents; her meals, 70 cents; and 25 cents went for fuel and laundry supplies, to say nothing of the valuable hours which is business woman devoted supervision.
She decided, right then, that it wasn’t good business.
Now she bundles up everything and sends it to us. Our driver calls promptly. The laundry, all beautifully washed, with flat pieces ironed and only a few pieces to be finished, is returned to her on time, and she has leisure hours to herself.
Yes, this modern laundry service pays—We will prove it to your lasting satisfaction if you will have our driver call tomorrow for your family bundle.
