A. L. Knipe, of Dunham & Knipe, left yesterday for New Hartford, Iowa upon receipt of a telegram stating his father, J. S. Knipe, had passed away suddenly.
Mr. and Mrs. F. M. Bungay and sons shall Tex. Mr. Applebaum will visit in Pasadena before returning to his home.
Mrs. F. F. Trotter and two little sons Frank and James will arrive tomorrow from their home at Bellingham, Wash., for a three months' visit at the home of Mrs. Trotter's sister, Mrs. W. B. Holland, 105 N.Claudina-ral, and with other relatives and friends.
Mr. and Mrs. Fred Hess and Mr. and Mrs. R.C.Holm and children will spend tomorrow at Owensmouth, where they will be guests in the home of their cousin, Ed Wingert, and family, who have recently moved to California from Chicago.

Mr. and Mrs. B. H. Sidnam had as dinner and overnight guests Thursday evening, Mrs. Maud Rea and son Everett, of Cannon City, Colo., who are spending the winter in California.
W. A. Idlor, of Maricopa, spent several days here this week visiting at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clinton Idlor, of Crone-avb, and with his brother, J. C. Idlor, and family.
Mr. and Mrs. A. G. Blom had as their guests recently, Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Floyd, of Denver, Colo., but now of San Pedro. The two families are oltime friends, and the visit was a most enjoyable one.
Mr. and Mrs. A. Christensen, of east of Anaheim, will go to Los Angeles this evening, where they will attend the annual banquet of the "Mother's club." The ladies are hostesses and the gentlemen are the guests of honor.
Mrs. W. H. Price, of Fillmore, is visiting here for a few days with her mother, Mrs. C. E. King, S. Claudina-St and at the home of her brother, H. M. King, west of the city. Mrs. C. E. King has been in ill health for a short time.
Mr. and Mrs. W. F. Junge left today for Freshno, where they will visit until Wednesday in the home of Mr. Junge's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Max Junge, Mr. A. Koppis, of Los Angeles, is in charge of the Junge home on N. Ohio-st during their absence.

Mrs. I. Nelson and Mrs. C. Pitchlynh, mother and sister of the late Mrs. Willis Faust, who have been here since the death of Mrs. Faust, left Thursday for their home in San Francisco. Mr. Faust is still under the care of a nurse and physicians and will leave, in company with a nurse, on Sunday for San Francisco, where he will enter the Southern Pacific hospital for a two months' treatment.
SANTA ANA RUNNERS TO VISIT HOLLYWOOD
Santa Ana high school tracksters will get their first state of a strange track this season when they dig their splkes into the cinder path at Hollywood high school Saturday afternoon in their first regular track meet of the year.
Tryouts have been in progress at Santa Ana during the week and a large number have been out for each event. Competition for places on the team has been keen and interest in track activities has been raised to the highest pitch among the scantily slad athletes of the school.

Two additional matt carriers were put to work yesterday in Santa Ana by Postmaster C. D. Overshiner, following receipt of authorization and instructions from the postal department.
