HESTER, Editor xix months, $1.25 glad matter. 1920, exceeded in us year in the hisentry. It was the greatest foreign trade any nation ever had, at any time. The most significant fact in connection with this enormous growth in exports and imports is the huge increase of trade with Latin America and the West Indies. Arose — th brazil, Argentina, Chile and Uruguay totalled more than $1,000,000, 000, a gain of nearly $100,000,000 as compared with the previous year. Exports to these countries gained more than $100,000,000. This shows what a fertile field for American commerce Latin America is. These four countries alone brot American goods to the colossal total of $457, 000,000. Imports from these countries increased about $25,000,000, and went to $587,000,000. By systematic, judicious cultivation on the part of the U. S. government and the commercial and financial interests of this nation, regular American trade with Latin America should grow steadily and tremendously. Latin America wants to trade with this country and will do so if its peculiar susceptibilities and its Latin manners, methods and temprament are catered to wisely. American trade with Cuba during 1920 reached the gigantic total of more than $1,200,000,000, an increase over 1919 of nearly $500, 000,000. Sugar trade was an important item in this vast interchange of commodities. Trade with Mexico also advanced greatly. The U. S. exported into that republic commodities valued at more than $207,000,000, an increase of some $75,000,000 compared with 1919; and imports from Mexico into the U. S. made the remarkable increase from $32,000,000 to $180, 008,000. So much for pacification down there. ACROSS THE ATLANTIC BY AIR IN 24 HOURS From London is announced the successful testing of an 1100-horsepower aero engine, said to be the most powerful known. Experts are predicting confidently the possibility of a regular London-New York aerial service and a 24-hour passage. That swift airship service across the Atlantic will be installed regularly in the near future is altogether probable. Doubtless malls between America and Europe will be carried almost entirely by airship within the next few years. Fast passenger service, too, may become popular via the air. The projected new airship would be capable of carrying fifty persons, it is said. Steady advancement in aerial straft realize the remarkable value and quality in this Velie 34 until you do. Nowhere else can you find such real value as this Velie Six at only... $1660 Delivered war tax paid. A demonstration will be a revelation. Telephone us today— Fullerton 80 McGRAW BROS: 114 W. It is the profiteering, plundering tactics of some corporations that serves to create the feeling which is so widely prevalent against all corporations.
