DINNER FOR VISITORS
Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Kidd, of East Alberta-st, entertained last evening with a delightful dinner party, given in honor of Mr. and Mrs. J. Brin-gold, of Minneapolis, who are the house-guests of Dr. and Mrs. Talcott of Santa Ann.
This is Mr. and Mrs. Bringold's first visit to So. Cal but it will not be their last, as they already have fallen in love with its beauties, and plan to return here in the future for good.
The decorations in the dining room were carried out in the valentine colors, red and white hearts, suspended from the chandelier being most effective and pretty. In the center of the table was a large bouquet of poinsettias, and the place cards were little valentines.
Following the dinner, the evening was spent with music and conversation. The guests included Mr. and Mrs. J. Bringold, Mr. and Mrs. J.

Mr. and Mrs. Kidd are building a beautiful new home on the corner of Alberta and Claudina, and when completed, Mrs. Kidd plans to entertain quite extensively.
ROUND TABLE ENTERTAINS
An unusually pleasant social event was held in the Placentia grammar school rooms Thursday evening when the Placentia Round Table club entertained at dancing and cards for the benefit of disabled soldiers. About 150 couples took advantage of the invitations for the evening and enjoyed the hospitality of the club members. The rooms had been tastefully trimmed in flags and other patriotic symbols. Fellinge's orchestra of the Golden State tract furnished the music for the dancing.
Excellent refreshments were served by a committee composed of the Mesdames E. Cline, Arthur Staley, A. Plerotti, H. Sullivan and W. Berkenstock.
Another feature of the evening was the card tables. Eight tables had been arranged for the players and a number of people enjoyed this pastime. The card committee was under the supervision of the chairman, Mrs. R. McKeen. Among the ladies Mrs. Charles Hansen succeeded in capturing the first prize and among the gentlemen Mr. A. Plerotti was voted the winner.
BRIDE-ELECT SHOWERED
The Choral society of the Methodist White Temple last evening tendered a delightful miscellaneous shower for a member, Miss Edythe Pember, bride-elect, at the beautiful Hoskins ranch home on So. Los Angeles-st. Mrs. Johnson, another member of the society, acting as hostess. The rooms were attractively decorated with accacia blooms, roses and meeting which will begin promptly at 2:30, beginning at 3:30, there will be a special entertainment for the children of members.
It will be a children's valentine party and the club is planning a most delightful afternoon for the kiddles. There will be a program, in which the children will be featured, besides a post office, at which valentines will be received and distributed to the children.
It is to be the event in club circles, and all members are asked to see that their children are present. There will be refreshments served; and will be in charge of the committee composed of Mesdames L. F. Pomeroy, Tompkins, W. E. Duckworth, Margaret Johnson and Miss Frances Backs.
ENTERTAIN 500 CLUB
Mr. and Mrs. W. M. Martenet, of S. Los Angeles-st., were host and hostess last evening to the members of the Thursday Evening Five Hundred club.
The decorations in the home were all carried out in the valentine motif, with red hearts and red flowers predominating.
The evening was pleasantly passed playing cards, with prizes for high score going to Mrs. J. E. Baker, Mrs. A. Nowotny, Mr. Al Erickson, and Mr. L. Z. Kroeger. Late in the evening Mrs. Martenet served a dainty two-course luncheon.

HOSTESS TO CHAT 'N SEAU CLUB
Mrs. J. Lloyd Moore, of W. Sycamore-st., was hostess last evening to the members of the Chat 'N Seau club. There was a good attendance of members, and the evening was spent in the usual diversion of needlework and conversation.
Late in the evening Mrs. Moore served daunty refreshment. Those present were Misses Frances Schu-macher, Hazel Wiltee, Viola Elliott, Florence Hammill, Evelyn and Lillian Degryse, Valle Pember, Sylvia May Dumas, Mesdames E. Voss Herrington, R. E. Campbell and the hostess.
The meeting next Thursday evening will be held at the home of Mrs. H. K. Boyd, S. Phila-st.
DELIGHTFUL DINNER PARTY
A very delightful affair of Wednesday evening was the dinner given at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Mason Squier, S. Los Angeles-st., in honor of Mrs. Squier's parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. Morris, of Minnesota, who are visiting here.
The table decorations were ferns and lilies, which made a most pleasing center piece. The hostess served a three-course dinner to her guests who included Mr. and Mrs. W. B. Knowlton, Mrs. Morgan of Los Angeles, Mr. and Mrs. J. Morris, and the host and hostess.

MEM'S GLEE CLUB ORGANIZES
The Men's Glee Club of the Methodist White Temple has formed a permanent organization to be limited to 12 members and has elected C. Hatcher, president; J. L. Finley, vice president; J. Saunders, secretary treasurer; Mrs. C. A. McCullah, director, and Mrs. Paul V. Hester, co-companist.
A secular concert program will be given at an early date. I will include the Soldiers' Chorus from Faust.
The Choral society is preparing a Shelley program to be given Feb. 28 and will sponsor a concert by the U.S. C. Men's Glee club here March 18.
