News of Fullerton EXPECT BIG CROWD AT VETERANS' MTG. It was expected today there would be a crowd out to see the special stunts put on by the posts of Fullerton, Anaheim and Brea at the American Legion-Ebell club affair at the high school auditorium tomorrow night where plans for helping the disabled soldiers will be discussed. Burton Pitts, state commander of the Legion, will be present, as will also two disabled soldiers from Los Angeles who will deliver addresses on what the disabled soldiers are up against. SCHOOL PRINCIPALS MEET AT FULLERTON The grammar school principals of Orange-co will hold a meeting at the Fullerton grammar school Thursday night. This will be the second meeting of the present school year. Dinner will be served by the domestic science department of the Fullerton Bessica F. This will be followed by a business session when Prof. Cranston, superintendent of the Santa Ana grammar school, will talk. There will be a question box also. ANXIOUS TO OBTAIN PETROLEUM COURSE L. E. Plummer, principal of the Fullerton high school, will leave tomorrow afternoon to attend the state high school principal's association at San Rafael which will be in session all next week. Mr. Plummer is interested in obtaining an oil production course for the high school and will go via San Francisco to look over the opportunities for obtaining such a course. This is the reason he is leaving so early. PUTS DOWN 12-INCH WELL J. P. Feniger, of S. Spadra-rd, is putting down a 12-inch well to irrigate his 40-acre ranch at the corner of Spadra-rd and Orangethorpe. Mr. Feninger expects to develop at least 50 inches. ARRANGE FOR CONTEST The committee on contests of the Houser Bible class met at noon today at the Hartman Cafe and made arrangements for a contest between two factions of the class to be known as the Greeks and the Romans. ALLEGED HORSETHIEF SOUGHT IN COUNTY The sheriff's office is in receipt of a message from the sheriff of San Diego-co requesting Orange-co authorities to be on the lookout for a man named Lambert, who Sunday rented a saddle horse in San Diego and failed to return the animal to its owners. SEEK TO FREE YANKS IN BERGDOLL CASE BERLIN, Feb. 1.—A new complexion has been put upon the cases of Charles Neaf of Baltimore and Frank Zimmer of Denver, who are in jail at Eberbach in connection with the attempt to seize Grover Cleveland Bergdoll by the admission of the American military authorities that the men were attached to the United States army or occupation on the Rhine. Neaf and Zimmer were still in jail at Eberbach today, but it was expected that now steps would begin augmented looking to their release. C. OF C. SECRETARY LEAVES FOR NORTH Malcom A. Fraser, secretary of the Anaheim C. of C., left this afternoon to attend the meeting of the C. of C. secretaries association, at Oakland, in session from Thursday until Saturday. Mr. Fraser will return Monday. About 150 secretaries will attend, about 50 of whom will be from So. Cal. cities. Practically every city in the state will be represented. The six who went to the top of the peak were Ferris Scott, Jack Snow, Curtis Mortimer, Merritt McFarlane, "Buck" Buxton and Charles Robinson. SO. CAL, FLYER HURT IN BERLIN CRASH HARLAN & COLLIINS PLEASE BIG CROWD An appreciative audience greeted Messrs. Harlan & Collins of phonographic fame in their concert in the high school auditorium last evening. The introductory speeches were in charge of Mr. Wm. Reed who assisted in the evening's entertainment with flute and piccolo selections. Messrs. Arthur Collins and Byron G. Harlan sang with the Edison recreations of their voices and greatly pleased their listeners. They gave some of the favorites which have made them famous since the days of the cylinder "four-minute" records, including "The Preacher and the Bear," "Bake Dat Chicken Pie," "All Dressed Up and No Place to Go," "I'm a Twelve o'Clock Fellow in a Nine o'Clock Town" and a number of others. The stage appearance of the two artists was pleasing and they were heartily enced. Mr. Reed's flute and piccolo selections, with the Edison, were also highly pleasing, especially the number, "Charmant Olseau," by David, the flute obligato being rendered by Mr. Reed. The Edison re-creation concert was given as a courtesy to the music lovers of Anaheim by the Dunham & Knipe Co. POSTPONE EXECUTION LONDON, Feb. 1. The execution of Joseph Murphy, the Sinn Feiner, who was condemned to death by a British court marital for killing a British soldier while leading an attack at Cork, on Oct. 8, has been postponed to Feb. 9, it was officially announced today. The Plain Dealer for Job Printing. PEETE PROSECUTION NEARS END OF CASE LOS ANGELES, Feb. 1.—Nearing the completion of the prosecution's case, Dist. Atty. Woolwine today called his chief deputy, W.C. Doran, and Detective Charles A. Jones as star witnesses against Mrs. Louise Peete, on trial for the murder of Jacob C. Denton. Unless lengthy cross-examination interfered, Woolwine planned to close the case against Mrs. Peete today. Only seven witnesses remained to be called by the prosecution when the trial was resumed this morning. The big legal battle of the trial was expected to be precipitated when Woolwine, with Deputies Raymond L. Turney and A.H. Van Cott, called Doran to the stand to introduce the statement made by Mrs. Peete at the Glenn ranch, which is alleged to have tangled her in a "web of lies." RUNAWAY BOYS SOUGHT City Marshal Sam Jernigan of Santa Ana has received a telephone message from Chief of Police Larmer of Redlands asking him to arrest and hold Chester Bean, 14, and Theodore Pedecen, 15, runaway boys from Redlands.
