SIX HAULED BEFORE FRENCH AS VAGRANTS
Judge William French, of Fullerton, was given a busy morning this morning by Ed Thwing, city marshal, and Joc Marillo, deputy marshal, each of them presenting three prisoners before the judge. Alfred Reeves, Samuel Kavanaaugh and Robert Burns were arrested last night by Thwing after he had gotten tired of following them up and down the railroad track. They stated they were just out seeing the country. They admitted, however, that it was an expenseless journey. The judge that the sight-seeing trip would not be complete without a 30 days' inspection of the county jail.
Claye Page, Iva Rafer and Morris Page were pulled off a train by Joe Marillo. They stated they were on their way to San Diego where their folks live. They agreed to pay their way to Santa Ana, and were released.

SWING MAY ADDRESS HOUSER BIBLE CLASS
Stanley Chapman, Dale King, Abe Pritchard and W. M. Irwin were appointed on a committee yesterday at the meeting of the executive committee of the Houser Bible class of Fullerton to invite and urge Phil D. Swing, congressman, to address the Bible class on a subject of his own choosing during his visit to Orange co in February. The committee will point out to Mr. Swing that Fullerton has the second largest Bible class west of the Mississippi river, there being more than 350 members made up largely of the most influential business men of the city and ranchers of the surrounding country and that it will be well worth his while to meet them.
The executive committee also made final arrangements for the opening of the contest between Fullerton and Whittier next Sunday in numbers, punctuality and church attendance. The contest will last for seven weeks.
New members added to the class last Sunday were: T. E. Preston, Silvertell, Ore.; O. T. Kelly, Chapman Acres; Robert Thompson, 214 N. Lawrence; A. G. Oswald, 238 West Wilshire; M. C. Dougal, Whittier; Clarence S. Spencer, Orangethorpe; J. A. Thompson, 214 N. Lawrence; Roy Button, 320 Newell Place; W. Hall, 310 Wilshire; L. W. McCollum Marwood-apts; John Muhr, 202 Maple C. W. Coulter, E. Amerige.
Visitors last Sunday included: B. W. Bartells, No. Raymond; W. G. Krause, Iowa; G. A. Chapman, Los Angeles; J. S. Darlington, E. Whitier; R. C. Burkett, Orange; Jullar Marshall, E. Wilshire; David Goodwin, Fullerton; L. E. Neely, 247 E. Whiting.
EBELL DINNER FOR DISABLED VETERANS
The Ebell club of Fullerton is making preparations for a dinner for the benefit of disabled soldiers at an early date, given in conjunction with the Fullerton post of the American Legion, it was stated today. Committees from the Legion and the Union Man Denies Closed Shop Move
SANTA ANA, Jan. 21.-The Orange-co Trades council does not consider the closed shop good Americanism and does not contemplate a movement to institute a closed shop program in Santa Ana, according to the statement of W. C. Reed, secretary of the council. Reed stated that a suggestion that family supplies for members of local unions be purchased wholesale in Los Angeles and brot here for distribution is not being given serious consideration.
W. I. Patmor, a member of the plasterers' union, is authority for the statement that the union, as a union, has taken no action that will result in union plasterers refusing to work on building jobs where laths have been put on by non-union workmen. He admits, however, that individual members have discussed such a policy.
"Institution of the closed shop policy in Santa Ana has been discussed in the trades council meetings and in every instance the council has told the delegates to go back to their respective unions with the information that the council would not countenance the closed shop in Santa Ana," said Secretary Reed to lay.
"The closed shop in Santa Ana is absolutely unthot of, so far as the council is concerned. We are good Americans and when it comes to a closed shop policy we believe that it would demoralize building operations in Santa Ana and would be inimical."
EBELL DINNER FOR DISABLED VETERANS
The Ebell club of Fullerton is making preparations for a dinner for the benefit of disabled soldiers at an early date, given in conjunction with the Fullerton post of the American Legion. It was stated today. Committees from the Legion and the Ebell club which investigated the condition of the disabled soldiers in Los Angeles found that the sad predicament in which they are in because of so much "red tape" on the part of the government find not beer exaggerated. Both the Legion members and the members of the Ebell club favor the passage of new law that would mend the red tape trouble but in the meantime the boys must be taken care of somehow.

NEW TERCENTENARY STAMPS HERE SOON
A supply of tercentenary postage stamps has been ordered for the local postoffice and can be purchased on request, when they arrive, J. F. Ahlborn, postmaster, stated today. He emphasized that if people want them they will have to ask for them since they would lose their novelty if placed regularly on sale as other stamps. He added that the local office still has a number of 3-cent victory stamps on hand which are being gradually sold. The new tercentenary stamps will be in denominations of one, two and five cents.
The one-cent stamp is green and carries a picture of the Mayflower. The two-cent denomination is red and bears a picture of the Landing of the Pilgrims. The five-cent stamp of blue pictures the "Signing of the Compact."

These stamps are of the same value as ordinary postage and may be used accordingly. They are of a special issue put out by the post office department in commemoration of the landing of the Pilgrims. They will be issued only on demand. There is only one issue of those stamps, that of December, 1920, but it is declared that there will be enough to supply the demand.
