Maroon, a prominent physician, of Santa Ana, receipted a fine of $5 before Judge French this morning on the charge of violating the traffic ordinance. WILSON A party of 11 motorcyclists on seven motorcycles and three sidecars made the trip from Fullerton to Mt. Wilson and return yesterday, where they enjoyed a good feed and made an inspection of the observatory where a learned astronomer gave them an hour's lecture on the sun, moon and stars. Members of the party stated they learned more in an hour about the universe than they had learned in a life-time before. Following the inspection of the observatory the party engaged in a fierce snowball fight. They made a stop at Pasadena on their return. Among those who went were: Roy Choute and wife, Cecil Combs, Tom Hill, J. H. Clark, Peter Kruche and wife of Santa Ana, Arthur Wurth and Billy Green. WHITTIER ACCEPTS CLASS CHALLENGE Whittier has accepted the challenge of Fullerton to enter into a Men's Bible class contest beginning next Sunday. The points of contest will be in attendance and punctuality. The challenge of Fullerton was turned down by Santa Ana and other cities who were approached, and who admitted they could not get the Ana city hall at 2 o'clock Saturday, Jan. 22. The whole fabric of the association idea, its aims, purposes and strength, are to be laid before the growers of the county on that day. The meeting, without doubt, will be the most important meeting of the lima bean growers of the county during 1921. Its importance is augmented by the conditions facing the grower today. Whether the growers of this county are to pull together or separately is a question for them to decide, and it is declared that this meeting will result in placing the question squarely before the growers. OLD-TIME PADDLE SAVES DELINQUENTS "The old-fashioned switch is the most wholesome doctrine and the best method of keeping children out of the juvenile court." This declaration was made in an address before the P.-T. A. of Washington school at Santa Ana by Paul E. Wright, county probation officer. Following Wright's address the association passed resolutions favoring the establishment of a county parental or industrial school as a department for aiding in reclaiming delinquent children. The association appealed to the board of supervisors to furnish the probation officer with an auto, as it does most other county employees and officers whose positions call for constant travel. GETS AWARD IN SUIT OVER AUTO REPAIRS Judgment to the amount of $126.30 was granted Roy Hilliard, an auto mechanic, by Justice John B. Cox, who rendered a decision against the defendant, Frank Benchly in a suit truo which Hilliard was attempting to collect money he alleged was due him for making repairs on Benchly's auto. Benchly, in his cross complaint, alleges that Hilliard had improperly aligned his crankshaft after overhauling his car, and that the bearings had been burned out. He put in a counter claim for $50, which was denied by Justice Cox. WHITTIER ACCEPTS CLASS CHALLENGE Whittier has accepted the challenge of Fullerton to enter into a Men's Bible class contest beginning next Sunday. The points of contest will be in attendance and punctuality. The challenge of Fullerton was turned down by Santa Ana and other cities who were approached, and who admitted they could not get the number of men in their cities interested in the Bible that Fullerton has. There was a good attendance at yesterday's meeting of the Bible class, a good program given, and a good lesson discussed. The executive committee of the Men's Bible class will meet Thursday at noon. MARSON WILL BUILD STORE BY APARTMENT A. R. Marsom will add an addition to the Marwood apartment house on No. Spadra-rd to be used as a store, he stated this morning. The new addition will be one story in height with a 25-foot frontage and a depth of 40 feet in the space between the apartments and the Lillian Yaeger garage. Work will begin immediately. A number of business men are negotiating for the use of the building. Mr. Marsom is also starting another building at 431 East Commonwealth as a residence for his son. It will be a six-room modern bungalow. FULLERTON PUPILS WILL SEE MOVIES "The Sons of Democracy" and "The Valley of 10,000 Smokes" will be shown Fullerton grammar school pupils at 3 a.m. Wednesday, C. A. Marcey, principal, stated today. The first picture is very entertaining and carries a splendid moral. The latter is purely an educational film taken of a volcanic valley in Alaska. Mr. Marcey is also making a collection of educational slides to be shown the pupils from time to time. These include famous places in Cal. and other points in the west. The Orange-co basketball league will open its schedule for the season Friday with a game between Fullerton and Anaheim at the Anaheim high school grounds, Coach Smith, of Fullerton, stated this morning. The 110-pound Fullerton team will play the Placentia grammar school team tomorrow night, and the 130-pound and 110-pound teams will go to Whittier Thursday night. COUNTY BASKETBALL SCHEDULE OPENS FRI. Harry O. Hill will speak before the banquet of the Hi-Y club of the Fullerton high and J. C. banquet tonight. Since that time in 1918 the original and unknown trade name—"Bake-Rite" is today known around the world and the fame of their products has spread throughout the land. "The most important factor in the conduct of any business enterprise is its management. In this regard it is interesting to know that the same men who originated and established the Bake-Rite business are still standing at the head of the company. These men, each a specialist in his own particular line of work, have gathered about them a corps of able assistants, who have come from "the four corners of the earth," and have strengthened the organization until, at the present time, The Bake-Rite Bakers is probably better equipped than any other concern to operate and manage a firm of this magnitude. Pioneers in this particular field, originators of the Bake-Rite idea and ideas, they have blazed the trail and while imitation has been attempted in many quarters, they now stand at the head of the only permanent organization of its kind in our country today. "Like all pioneers is was necessary for them to break down, not only ordinary opposition in the march of progress, but the deep-rooted prejudice which then existed in the minds of the ordinary bakers against any attempt to elevate the trade from the cellar bakery, with its crude manufacturing methods and indolence, and bring this most important and interesting work out into the light of day, where every customer would be her, or his, own health inspector, and to remodel the equally crude merchandising methods and bring them up to the present state of efficiency, as represented by the Bake-Rite stores. The display advertising running in the Plain Dealer will inform our readers how they may become interested in this enterprising institution which has chosen Anaheim as a manufacturing center for its products."
