Hobart Murphy left Tuesday for a few days outing in the San Bernardino mountains in company with his Los Angeles physician, Dr. Mansur,
an eye spectalist, who has been treating Mr. Murphy's eyes for some time.
Mr. Geo. Schuppert the Brea baker
has purchased a new Nash Six to be delivered soon. Since coming to So.
California Mr. Schuppert feels he needs a good car that he and his family may be able to take in all the beautiful drives our state affords to the motorist.
Miss Lucina Duling was taken suddenly ill Monday evening at her home on South Orange. Dr. Parrett was called and latest report she is resting easy.
Miss Rosalie Rankin has taken charge of the Santa Fe Boarding House. While we hate to lose Mrs.
Rankin from our midst we are glad to know she has such a lucrative position. Mr. and Mrs. Rollins accompained her and will assist with the care of the place.
The Brea Chamber of Commerce held their monthly banquet and business meeting Monday evening at the Olsen Cafe. The meeting was well attended. Interesting talks were made by several of the Brea business men, among them an exhaustive re-port on the school work by Professor Fanning. Committees were appointed to take up the matter of increased railroad rates and other matters pertaining to the welfare of Brea.

Mrs. Lester Thompson and children accompanied her mother home to West Virginia Saturday. Mrs. Thompson has been ill for some time and it is hoped she will be greatly befitted by the change.
Mr. and Mrs. Harold Hogue and daughter Erma, of Fullerton, were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Belche Saturday evening.
Mr. and Mrs. Kit Connelly and daughters Madanett and Lonita have come to Brea to make their home here. The Connelly's think so much of our little city that they expect to buy property at once.
Thomas Baxter, former owner and editor of the Brea Progress left a few days ago on an extended tour of the east and middle-west which will include a visit to relatives and home folks in Southern Illinois.
An aluminum party was held at the home of Mrs. E. A. Gurley on South Orange Tuesday afternoon. An enjoyable time was had by all present.
Mrs. Smith, mother of W. F. Corbett, received news Saturday of the sudden death of her mother in Winnipeg, Canada.
Mr. and Mrs. Chester Hosmer of Alhambra were in Brea the latter part of the week looking after their property interests.
Master Harold Steck is again able to be out after a serious illness of pneumonia.
A Saturday night "Grunion" party made up of Mr. and Mrs. C. F. Horton, Mr. and Mrs. Guy Wood and son Edwin, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Smith, Miss Winifred Smith and Mrs. Drake after making a tour of the various beaches, returned home in the early hours of the morning, but from different reports it is difficult to make an estimate of the exact size of the catch.
Mr. and Mrs. C. F. Myers have entered the automobile class and their troubles have begun. Mr. Myers having purchased a Ford this week.
William Vanghn was down from Oilfield, Cal., over the week end greeting friends. Everybody is always glad to see Bill.

Marion A. Buzek has been appointed administrator of the estate of Emma M. Buzek, deceased, with J. N. Anderson, appraiser.
J. N. Anderson, Jesse Elliott and R. C. Mize have appraised the estate of Jennie B. Ould, deceased, at $6,000. It consists of a ten-acre ranch.
Alice S. Durkee has filed final account as executrix of the last will of Milton E. Durkee, deceased, with petition for distribution.
