Bridge is entertaining her sister, Miss Reese of Oakland. SOCIAL AND PERSONAL A. C. Pearson went to Los Angeles this morning to transact business. Mrs. G. W. Hyde of Hollywood was the guest of Anaheim friends yesterday. Mrs. B. J. Brown went to San Diego this morning to spend a couple of days' visit. Mrs. L. N. Gibbs of Los Angeles is visiting for a few days with Mr. and Mrs. F. N. Gibbs. Hans Weisel, F. Marion Eden and A. G. Langenberger were business visitors yesterday in Santa Ana. Mrs. Erickson leaves Saturday over the S. P. for Superior, Wis., to join her husband who left March 17. A. J. Schfarts and family visited at Pomona and other cities the first of the week. Mrs. Wm. Locke and Mrs. M. C. Goff spent today in Los Angeles combining business and pleasure. Mrs. Paul Elze returned this morning from a week's visit with relatives and friends at San Diego. A dance will be given tonight at Campbell's Hall at Orange, the music being furnished by Feltinge's orchestra. Harold Goodale, who is attending Pomona college, spent today with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. G. H. Goodale. Chas. Stereopticon pictures of the Cross and the Resurrection will be given at the United Presbyterian church on Friday and Sunday evenings of this week. The Woman's club will hold a Cooked Food Sale on Saturday at Holloway's Cash Store. The ladies will present their finest culinary efforts at this sale, so come and buy your Easter necessities for the table. The library has had two new racks of shelving added this past week—and other interior changes made. The reading room is open till 6:30 p.m. daily. Everybody is welcome. Mrs. A. C. Drake is enjoying a week's vacation from her college duties. Yorba Linda's building boom is started now. The great unprecedented demand for houses, created by the oil boom in this vicinity has awakened Yogba Lindaltes to the necessity of meeting the demand of the housing problem. Mr. William Martin has begun the erection of a neat little bungalow on a lot in the Morris tract. Mr. B. S. Bemis purchased a large lot in this tract on which he expects to erect two houses within a short time. Ross Knight started a six room house on property which he owns just east of the P. E. tract. M. A. Bridge is building an addition to his ranch house also. There have been rumors in town of a deal concerning the erection of an apartment house, but no facts are settled yet on this deal. 500 AT BARBECUE ON SPARKS RANCH About 500 residents of the district participated in one of the most enjoyable affairs recently, the dance and barbecue Monday evening at Fairview Poultry ranch, home of C. G. Sparks. Dancing was enjoyed on the second floor of the new building, the music being furnished by Faber's and being furnished by Fellinge's orchestra. Harold Goodale, who is attending Pomona college, spent today with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. G. H. Goodale. Chas. Puckett of the Standard Minerals Co. at Kingman, Ariz. was a business visitor in this city yesterday. J. Joplin, who has been visiting his daughter, Mrs. Chas. J. Fay, leaves April 24 over the S. Jim Bronson of San Bernardino is spending a few days this week as the guest of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Waitman. He will return home tomorrow. Delicious barbecued meat was part of the menu, together with baked beans, potato salad, pickles, buns and coffee. This modern up-to-date poultry plant is being built by Bever and Wilson, contractors, and when completed will be one of the biggest and most up-to-date structures for the breeding and hatching of chicks in this part of the country. The building is of hollow tile construction, the windows double glazed, except the transoms, which will permit a draft at the ceiling line. There will be patented cooling and heating systems automatically controlled, invented by Elmer Pemberton. Messrs.
