M. G. Anlauf, accompanied by cousin from Canada, motored down from his Santa Paula ranch Sunday for the Capistrano hill climb. They were accompanied back today by Mr. and Mrs. Howard Gates, Mr. Gate who has just returned from army service, and Mr. Anlauf will fish for trout in the Sescape this week.
Mr. and Mrs. R. L. Goble and daughters, Violet and Bernice, motored to Los Angeles yesterday to visit with Mrs. Goble's mother, Mrs A.A.McKinney, and her sisters and husbands, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Crogs and little daughter Amy, and Mr and Mrs.Wendell Rapp, Mr.Rapp has just returned from overseas.

SOCIAL MEETING OF YOUNG FOLKS IS MERRY AFFAIR
GARDEN GROVE, April 14—Special—Probably the most interesting social gathering held by the Baptist young people of this town occurred Thursday evening at the home of J. Garfield Allen on Euclid Ave. At 7:30 the group began to assemble, at 8 o'clock a crowded house had appeared.The evening was merrily spent in business relating to the progress of the organization, about a dozen new members were added to the society This regular session was followed by games and a jolly old fathomed candy pull.Mr. and Mrs.Allen as usual proved themselves as "hosts" of much cheer.
Mrs. S. Horowitz returned Tuesday evening from a few days' visit with relatives in Los Angeles.
F. A. Monroe is sporting a brand new Dodge touring car.
Tom Tournat has left for San Francisco where he will visit his brother Waldo who is working in the shipyards.

Francis Westgate who has been in the Officers Training School at Mare Island has arrived home for a two weeks' furlough.
Wayne Holt who has been serving in the Hospital Corps overseas has received his honorable discharge and returned home.
Mrs. Irvine Sprothers and daughter of Los Angeles have been visiting for a few days at the home of Miss Mildred Harper.
Miss Ruth Violetts and Miss Mildred Francis enjoyed the week-end at Balboa with a number of school friends.
The Tuesday Afternoon Club met April 18th with Mrs. Bosey and Mrs. Price. Response to roll call was answered with 'spring fashion notes.' There was an interesting debate, the principals being Mrs. W. J. Nowsome and Mrs. J. D. Price vs. Mrs. Scott and Mrs. Bosey, the result of which was announced a tie by the judges Mesdames Arkley, Cloyes and King.
A collation was then served by Mrs. Bosey, assisted by Mrs. Chas. Price of Santa Ana. Mrs. J. A. Knapp and Mrs. Vernon King will entertain the next meeting at the home of Mrs. Knapp. It was decided to hold the annual picnic party Friday evening, April 18th at the Arkley cottage, at Seal Beach, the principal pastime will be participated in by the club members and their husbands.
Ident. Ernest Clanbaugh has received his honorable discharge and arrived yesterday from Camp Humphrey, Va.
