Experience has proven the fallacy of this plan and the modern method is to engage the services of an architect of established reputation and have him draw plans, let contracts at the most favorable price and oversee the work, receiving for his services a fixed commission. In this way all cost is predetermined and the owner is assured a building that is erected in accordance with specifications. There is an individual responsibility upon the successful architect to eliminate waste and extravagance. Two old wells are now deepening. Wells previously deepened by redrilling show large increases in production. The General ePtroleum is another concern that is speeding up its development work in the Kramer. This company has a lease on the Wilson property and is making rapid preparations for drilling. The Amalgamated, after drilling to 2250 feet, at Ibbitson No.1, in the Kramer field, has cemented. The well will be allowed to stand for a couple of weeks. The formation at the time of cementing was brown shale, with oil indications rather good. On the Yorba property the Amalgamated has a new rig going up, and expects to start drilling in a few days. The redrilling of Kramer No.1 from 2700 to 2900 feet, the present depth, indicates strongly the greater richness of the deeper sands. This well is looking exceptionally good, an dwhen completed will be good for 300 barrels. Kramer No.2 continues to produce almost three hundred barrels of oil that is practically free from impurities of any kind.
