In the meantime, the various farm centers of the county have been actively interested and they have done me the honor of putting me on this county executive handle the matter. Friday we met for the first time the executive committee of the county Chamber of Commerce. Reports were in from all over the county and from both farmers and merchants to a very large extent and, so far as reported to us, there was practically an unanimous and hot feeling for a mutual company, if it can be brought about on business basis and practicle. Reports were on hand from mutual companies in the west and letters read from some and they were all to the effect that they were conducted upon a very low cost. Even in the frozen and sparsely settled northwest, this was the case. The committee is going to take time to go into the matter in thorro and exhaustive shape and have something tangible and well worked out to submit at the earliest possible date. Under government control, large increases were immediate. The answer, "War measure." The people accepted and said, "All right, if the government gets it" Did it? Now peace is here and greater increases it? immediate and principle. (Who gets it?) The Bell company representatives have come across with their "mark of approval" and suggest a very happy solution. That would be to let the farmers organize various farmer line companies and connect in their switch board. (How nice.) The various farm centers of the state are taking up the matter and an exhaustive study and work will be conducted throutout. Most respectfully, W. STARBUCK, Fullerton. HASN'T SOLD IT Fast and furious come the report of ranch sales. Some of the reports are bound to get twisted a bit. For instance, they have it all over town that Edgar Hartung, who recently purchased 20 acres on the Olive-rd for $68,000, had sold out for a profit of $14,000. The way ranch values are going up such a report in respect to this particular very desirable ranch might well be true but Hartung says there's nothing to it. "I didn't buy it to sell," says Hartung, "I bought it to keep." He adds: "It's a great life." RALLY AND BANQUET There will be a rally and banquet of the young people of the First Methodist church at the Y. M. C. A. rooms at 6:30 p.m. Friday, March 14. A good program has been arranged. Those attending should notfy Mrs. George Tedrick by Wednesday. YOUR INCOME TAX RETURNS must be filed on or before MARCH 15, 1919 I am prepared to compile necessary statements for INDIVIDUALS, PARTNERSHIPS, CORPORATIONS, on all matters relating to INCOMES, EXCESS PROFITS or other FEDERAL OR STATE TAXES Reasonable fees. Absolute secrecy VICTOR D. LOLY Expert Accountant The Bell company representatives have come across with their "mark of approval" and suggest a very 'happy' solution.' That would be to let the farmers organize various farmer line companies and connect in their switch board. (How nice.) The various farm centers of the state are taking up the matter and an exhaustive study and work will be conducted thruout. Most respectfully, W. STARBUCK, Fullerton. The Plain Dealer: Election of One Trustee for Elementary School and two trustees for High school. Friday, March 28, 1919. According to custom the Loara school district furnishes two, Anaheim district two and Magnolia one. The Loara district is now represented upon High school board by E. A. Sparks and G. H. Goodale. Mr. Sparkes is a candidate to succeed himself. Mr. Goodale has moved into the Anaheim district and Archie Henry announces himself for High school trustee. Mr. Sparkes and Mr. Henry need no introduction to the citizens of Anaheim and vicinity as their past services upon the board is their recommendation and it is taken for granted that the Loara school district will have their usual representation upon the High school board.
