Lloyd Porter, son of B. F. Porter of W. Orangethorpe avenue, has arrived at Presidio from overseas duty. While serving with the 91st division he contracted inflammatory rheumatism and spent some time in a hospital in France.
West Anaheim precinct has been transferred from Stanton township to Anaheim township, so the population of Anaheim township may be safely over 6000, and Justice Howard's salary under the new law will not be cut to less than $50 per mo.

MISSIONARY TEA
One of the most successful gatherings of the ladies of St. Michael's Episcopal church was held Thursday at the home of Mrs. William Chambers, N. Emily street. The purpose was a missionary tea and the hostesses were Mrs. Chambers and Mrs. D. G. Redit. The house was well filled with a number of guests, members of the parish, who entertained with a splendid program contributed by Miss Jeanette Jessurun, Miss Marion Wallace, Miss Mildred Carter, Miss Dolan and Miss Faye Kern, all of whom delighted the gathering with beautiful musical numbers and recitations.
This was followed by a reading from Browning by Mrs. Charles Klopfel. After the tea a silver offering was taken for the missionary fund of the Woman's Auxiliary, which was very gratifying to the hostesses. This is the first of a series of teas to be given by the ladies of the parish.
MISSIONARY TEA HELD
The Woman's Home Missionary Society of the Methodist church held a tea at the home of Mrs. A. H. Wittman, N. Los Angeles-st.yesterday afternoon. The meeting was presided over by the president, Mrs. Charles Eygabroad. The devotionals were conducted by the pastor, Dr. J. F. Hunphrey, after which a short program was enjoyed consisting of a vocal solo,"I Know the Lord Layed His Hands on Me," by Mrs. Paul V. Hester. Questions and answers on Home Missionary Work, piano sold by Mrs. G. H. Goodale, and a talk by the pastor, Dr. Humphrey.Following this a business session was held at which a number of important questions were discussed.Refreshments of sandwiches and cocoa was served by the hostess.
