GARDEN GROVE, Feb. 17. Special—C. A. Blackmer shipped two truck loads of his nursery stock to his ranch in Santa Susana last week.
Mr. and Mrs. G. L. Beardsley attended the funeral of the late George Glason at Cotton last Wednesday.
J. A. Knapp and family, Mr. and Mrs. Irvine German and Mrs. F. B. Winters motored to Downey Sunday where they visited friends.
Miss Grace Hedstrom spent the week end on Mt. Lowe with a group of her high school friends from Anaheim.
Misses Celestia Churchill and Ruth Pennybaker of Los Angeles were guests at the homes of Allen Bros. las Friday.
Postmaster Thompson motored to Highlands last Saturday to attend the funeral of his niece, Miss June Thomp funeral of his niece, Miss June Thompson.
Mrs. E. A. Pearson and little daughter Betty are staying for a few days in Hollywood on account of the illness of Mrs. Pearson's mother.
Last Friday evening a number of our townspeople motored to Santa Ana where they attended a banquet and conference at the Santa Ana Baptist church.

Mr. and Mrs. Paul Swayze entertained informally at their country home on Saturday evening, in honor of their house guests, the Misses Nellie and Mary Parmley, of Long Beach. A number of the young people, friends and schoolmates of the young ladies. The amusements consisted of games and music. Refreshments were served and those present report a very enjoyable time.
The Iowa picnic will be held in Los Angeles on Saturday, Feb. 22, at Eastlake Park.
Mrs. J. F. Mayhew visited at the home of her daughter, Mrs. W. E. Phillips of Chino, Saturday and Sunday.
Harold Hudson, son of Mr. and Mrs. C. S. Hudson, who has been serving in the Field Artillery, returned home last Thursday, having received his honorable discharge.
Travis Anderson entertained a number of his friends with an informal dance, given at his home on last Friday evening.

C. S. Holt has received word from his son Wayne, who has been in Scotland for the past six months, in which he states he is now sergeant in the U.S. Marines, and is doing duty with them in France.
The Women's Home Missionary Society of the M.E. Church has secured Mrs. T. M. Bodkin, a national officer of the Missionary Society to give an address and annual thanks offering at the M.E. Church next Sunday morning at 11 o'clock.
