P. A. Robinson, of Santa Ana, tells of a pretty how-de-do. He says he has a brother and sister on the way to Orange-co—they are now in Seattle. And at the hotel where they are stopping, they have been told not on any account to think of going to Southern California, where "people are dying of the flu like files on a frosty morning."

MAKING HARD FIGHT
With the defense putting on witnesses to prove that C. T. Burns, a waiter, charged with felony involving a simple-minded girl of 15 years, was at a garage at Seal Beach at the time the ordime was committed, the difficulties facing the jury in the case, being tried at Santa Ana, multiplied. District Attorney, L. A. West and Deputy Menton put on a number of witnesses to show that Burns was in the Premier Apartments at Seal Beach at or about the time Thelma Sherman of Long Beach is supposed to have been enticed from an automobile in which her father, H. C. Sherman, had left her while he was in the Seal Beach Inn, getting drinks.
Burns went on the stand and was followed by Artie R. Hill. The two said that that day, Nov. 13, they had rented an apartment at the Premier, and that they were there earlier in the afternoon than the time, 3:45, fixed as the time of the crime, but they were at J. J. Adams' garage from 3:30 to 4:25. A number of other witnesses gave testimony showing that they were there at or about the time the weak-minded girl is supposed to have been mistreated.
RUNS INTO P. E. CAR
Tuesday morning about 9:30 a Ford touring car, bearing license number 423396, and was owned by Edward Durr, of Los Angeles, approached the La Habra Valley Electric crossing on the Fullerton road rapidly. Just as it reached the track an electric car rushed by, the Ford hitting the rear end of the car and tearing off the back steps and completely demolishing the auto. One of the passengers of the auto, a man whom the driver had picked up on the road, was seriously hurt and is believed to be internally injured. He was rushed to the Fullerton hospital. The owner of the car received only bruises and scratches.

ORANGE-CO 'CHANGE RETURNS $4,233,919
During 1918, the biggest year financially that citrus growers of Orange-co ever had, the Orange County Fruit Growers sold 1113 cars of oranges and 602 cars of lemons, for which $4,233,919.07 was received, according to the annual report issued yesterday by L. D. Palmer, secretary and manager.
When it is remembered that the per cent of the oranges and lemons produced in Orange-co, it is quickly seen to what proportions the Orange-co 1918 citrus crop went in cold cash. The citrus crop of Orange-co was more than a $10,000,000 crop in 1918.
The Orange County Fruit Exchange is selling agent for 11 associations in the territory south and east of the Santa Ana river and for the Garden Grove territory.

GOOD PATRONAGE
The Blue Bird delicatessen shop, since opening Saturday has been greeted with a liberal patronage. The interior decorations are carried out in the blue and white color scheme. The tables, counters, chairs and steam table are white. Cages containing sweet-voiced canaries lend a very home-like atmosphere.
The shop is owned and under the direct supervision of Mrs. M. E. Canby, Mrs. H. T. Hathaway and Mrs. R. J. Winters, and these ladies, in their attractive costumes of white skirt with blue smock and dainty cap, prepare and serve the foods.
