CALLED TO NEB. BY DAUGHTER’S ILLNESSS OLINDA, Feb. 10 (Special)—Mrs. Alice Reynoldson of Nebraska, who came in January to spend two or three months with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Case, of Garden Grove, and her sister, Mrs. W. H. Clark, of the Columbia lease, and Mrs. Robert Farris, of Puente, and her brother, A. E. Case, of Taft, was called home by a telegram stating that one of her daughters was very ill with influenza. A second message was received Sunday afternoon stating that the daughter was some better. Mr. Stivee and family, of the Union lease, took supper with Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Simpson and family of the Puente lease, Sunday evening, and attended the closing revival service at Yorba Linda. Miss Allie Walker, of the Columbia lease, spent the week-end with Mr. and Mrs. Dan Scott, of the Orange lease. Mr. and Mrs. Dan Scott, accompanied by Miss Walker, attended the M. E. church at Fullerton Sunday morning, and afterward motored to Long Beach, returnin to Olinda in the evening, where they attended the M. E. church. R. E. Sallings of Sawtelle, brother of Joe Sallings, of the Columbia lease, moved his family to the Santa Fe lease Thursday. The Fullerton Union high school now has the champion football team of Southern California, having won against San Diego, Saturday, 21 to 13. Beecher Dynes, of the Columbia lease, spent Sunday with his cousins, Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Newell, of Placentia. The Olinda Nazarrene minister and wife, Rev. James Elliott, accompanied by Mrs. Bowe and Mrs. Geo. Simpson, of the Puente lease, attended the all-day meeting of the Nazarene council, Friday, at Pasadena. Mr. O. P. Scott and family, of the Columbia lease, motored to their ranch, near Corona, Sunday. Miss Simpson, of the Puente lease, visited the Fullerton high school Monday. Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Clark, of the Columbia lease, took Mrs. Alice Reynolds to Los Angeles Saturday afternoon. Mr. Beltz, of Olinda, is some better. Mrs. Beltz is able to sit up for a short time. They have both been under the care of a nurse for some time. Mr. Charlie Strawser, of the Columbia lease, spent Wednesday and Thursday in Los Angeles. AVERY CO. MAKING RAPID PROGRESS That Avery tractors have more than made good is attested by the rapidity in which they are coming into favor throughout California. James Elliott, and wife and Mrs. Bowle, of the West Coast lease, and Mrs. Peck, of the Columbia lease, attended the Nazarene counsell at Pasadena Wednesday. Revs. Lewis and Matthews were the leaders. They will begin a series of meetings at the Olinda Nazarene church Feb. 9th. Mr. and Mrs. Thayer and family, Mr. James Jester and Mr. P. Hanson motored to Balboa Thursday evening for supper. Mrs. Charlie Moseley, of the West Coast lease, who has been under medical care in the Fullerton hospital for some time, is much improved and has returned to her home. Miss Panline Barnett, of Gardena, is visiting Mr. and Mrs. James Williams, of the Columbia lease. Charles Robb and father of the Santa Fe lease, were business visitors in Los Angeles Wednesday. Mrs. J. E. Persons visited Mrs. Charles Robb, of the Santa Fe lease, Thursday. In the afternoon they motored to Anaheim on a pleasure trip. Mr. and Mrs. H. T. Nelson, of the Columbia lease, were in Anaheim and Fullerton on business Thursday. On their way home they called on Mrs. Myrtle Jones, of Fullerton. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Miranda, of the Santa Fe lease, accompanied by Mrs. J. M. Williams, of the Columbia lease, were business visitors at Monday. One of the ten carloads which have been ordered by the local distributors is expected to arrive that the balance of the quota which has been allotted to them will follow at frequent intervals. Advance orders, they report, are coming in very satisfactorily, orders having been received for practically all of their next carload, as well as many others for Manager Olmstead, of the Avery Co., of Orange county, distributors of the Avery "Bull Dog" line of tractors and threshers, reports that the question of delivery is now their most serious problem.
