6—The Gazette Wednesday, October 21, 1944 Dinner Set To Honor County Eagle Scouts Local members of the "Damn Yankees" cast, current hit musical at Melodyland Theatre, starring Eddie Bracken, will present "showbaz" entertainment at the annual Orange Empire council Eagle Scout dinner on Wed., Oct. 28, at the Saddleback Inn. The evening will feature two of the Los Angeles Angels' top officials who will stage a Huntley-Brinkley style program, telling the inside story of the Angels' move to Orange County. Among the singers from the theatre-in-the-round will be Sallyanne Bachman and Suzanne Lankford; both of La Mirada, who have been with the company since the Fall Series of 1963. Nichols To Lead Cabinet Laurel Nichols, OHS Senior, has recently been elected President of the California Scholastic Federation at Orange High, completing her newly elected cabinet Both played leading roles as mens in "The Sound of Music." With them will be Jim Cutlip of Anaheim who joined the ensemble in August 63 with "Bye Bye Birdie," Lorri Kemp of Balboa Island who made her first appearance in "The Firefly," Sean Stuart, Anaheim, who began in "My Fair Lady" and played the featured role of Roberto-les-Diams in "Irma la Douce," and Judy Davis who debuted in "Bells Are Ringing." Dennis Kelley, on leave of absence while attending college, is a Melodyland original dating back to the premiere production, "Annie Get Your Gun." The annual banquet will honor some 50 Orange Empire council Boy Scouts who have earned Eagle rank in the past year. Tommy Floy Jessee, an unemployed janitor, is accused of killing his wife, Mardell, 28, with two shotgun blasts in their apartment at 1021 N. Shattuck St. last Wednesday. He was arraigned on the charge yesterday and held without bail. No motive has been advanced for the slaying, according to police.
