County Marines
To Honor Angels

Business Seminars Set For September
Small Business Management Seminars, co-sponsored by University of California Extension, the Small Business Administration are to be presented on this fall starting Sept. 22.
Entering, highly popular Orange County business for the past several years, keys major management institutions confronting business owners and managers in fields of manufacturing, marketing or service, and the construction industry.
Experts in the fields of industrial education, and other areas specialization cover such issues as organization for small businesses, cost control, securing initial marketing, personnel management, production management, taxation, and planning for the future.
Seminars are scheduled for eight Tuesday evenings 7-9:30 p.m. at the Buena Park High School, Academy and Magnolia, in Buena Park.
Because the lectures and discussions deal with management only, participants are limited to owners and managers of small business. A small business is here defined as one having fewer than 500 employees, according to Mrs. Ruth Hauter, Orange County Extension representative.
Upon completion of the course those who have attended regularly are awarded certificates from the small business administration — an independent government agency.
Further information is available by calling or writing the University Extension office at the Buena Park High School, Lambert 6-3397.
Local Campaign Step-Up Urged
Coalson Morris, Orange County Goldwater-Miller chairman, and Dennis Carpenter, chairman of the Republican Central Committee, today urged volunteers to step-up their efforts in being that virtually every GOP voter be registered by the Sept. 1 registration deadline for the annual Nov. 3 election.
"We will present brief, factual talks on the true stand of Senator Goldwater," Davidson said, "and then attempt to fill members of the audience on all phases of the issues at hand by answering any questions they have regarding either Goldwater or the Republican slate."
Coalson Morris, Orange County Goldwater-Miller chairman and Dennis Carpenter, chairman of the Republican Central Committee, today urged volunteers to step-up their efforts in seeing that virtually every GOP voter be registered by the Sept. 10 registration deadline for the general election Nov. 3.
Morris and Carpenter said that almost every Goldwater and GOP headquarters in the county have a registrar on duty during each operative hour.
The state registrar of voters estimates that almost 500,000 Republicans in California were not registered for the primary.
A three-man speakers panel has been formed by Gary L. Davidson, chairman of the Orange County Goldwater for President Speakers Bureau, which will appear throughout the county to present the issues and conservative philosophy of Senator Barry Goldwater.
Davidson will head the panel which will include Donald J. Regan and Vincent McGinness.
"We will present brief, factual talks on the true stand of Senator Goldwater," Davidson said, "and then attempt to fill in members of the audience on all phases of the issues at hand by answering any questions they have regarding either Goldwater or the Republican slate."
Davidson, an attorney, lives in San Clemente and has a law practice in Orange. He is a member of Toastmasters International, the world-wide speech organization.
Regan is an attorney, practicing in Santa Ana, and lives in Newport Beach. He is affiliated with the Friday Morning Friars.
McGinnes, a stock broker, lives in San Clemente, and belongs to the Friars.
All three are members of the Santa Ana 20-30 International.
Davidson said any group in Orange County which wishes to have the panel, or an individual speaker, should contact the Goldwater Press Headquarters. 312 East 17th St., Santa Ana, or phone 541-5351.

The 1968 Fair was originally scheduled to be held in Long Beach but that location was scrapped after a disagreement between the fair corporation and the Long Beach City Council. According to the corporation,
Price told gathered county officials that the drawing market in southern California was about two and one-half the size of Seattle but that the New York market was double that to be found in Southern California.
However, Price explained that Seattle had had a much better penetration of the Washington market than did the current New York World's Fair.
Price said the $50 million profit figure was based on a market saturation similar to that of Seattle.
